Carlos was a great tour guide who explained everything clearly, and I learned so much about the history of Montserrat (including the Black Madonna and the Basilica), Girona, and Tossa de Mar through him! I highly recommend this tour 😊 I went in mid-August, which is the peak of summer, so I highly recommend wearing light clothing and drinking plenty of water. Sandals and shorts are also perfectly fine for visiting the Montserrat Basilica!
This is a WONDERFUL tour! I was a bit worried about the 12-hr commitment but it worked out well. The schedule was a good balance between sightseeing and the bus rides to go from one place to another (bus has great AC and comfortable). The combination of the three places provided an interesting contrast (mountain top monastery, medieval city, beach town). Carlos, our tour guide was great, very knowledgeable and engaging. Maribel, our driver, possesses impressive skills navigating the curvy roads. Highly recommended day trip!
We had a wonderful time on this tour and thought it was a great way to see several beautiful places outside of Barcelona in one day. Our guide, Carlos, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and had plenty to share about the history and significance of the places we visited throughout the day. The bus was also comfortable and provided a very welcome, cool break between stops. At Montserrat, there was enough free time to choose how we wanted to spend our visit. We took the funicular up and were rewarded with gorgeous views from the top, while those who preferred to stay near the monastery had time for shopping and exploring instead. Girona was another highlight. We had time to explore the lovely historic city before lunch, and there were plenty of delicious options open even though we visited on a national holiday. After lunch, we also had some free time to walk around and explore at our own pace. Tossa de Mar was a fantastic way to finish the day. The beach and Mediterranean scenery were beautiful, and there was enough time to visit the medieval fortress and still take a dip in the sea if you wanted to. Overall, we really enjoyed seeing the variety of places included on this tour. Montserrat, Girona, and Tossa de Mar each offered something completely different, and the day was well paced without feeling rushed. It was a great addition to our time in Barcelona, and we would definitely recommend it.
Excellent tour. A well run tour. Carlos our tour guide was awesome and Mirabell our driver also did an excellent job. We loved the three places we visited. Highly recommend.
So glad I booked this tour. Being able to get a sampling of Monserrat, Girona and Tossa del Mar made me feel like I really got a sense of Spain, the varied terrain and vibes in each location. Each one just as breathtaking as the last. Carlos and Maribel were wonderful. I enjoyed the brief tours in each location paired with some time to explore. They kept the group on time so we were able to make the best of each stop. This tour gave me enough context to consider visiting these cities again. For vegan/vegetarian tourists: each stop has many options for dining, you should not have any trouble.
Great guide Carlos navigated us to three wonderful sites. Each place has unique feeling and l’ll want to came back again! It’s satisfying so the say even in one day trip😄
We enjoyed our day with the guide Carlos. We saw the black Mary at Montserrat, bought some of the cheese with honey which was very good . and really enjoyed the midevil town of Girona and shooting locations for Game of thrones. We had a very good inexpensive lunch there as well. We ended with dipping our toes in the Mediterranean. The beach is more pebbely than sandy and had wonderful views.
Very good and wonderful trip!!!
