Monteverde Night Tour in the Forests

Very knowledgeable guides. We saw a toucan at night, absolutely beautiful! Learned about the local plants as well. One of our favorite activities!

We had a wonderful experience on this night walk tour in Costa Rica. On the tour, it was just my partner and I (but I think this varies based on how busy they are) Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, but even on a slightly less active night we still saw scorpions, glow bugs, stick bugs, frogs, and more. What really made the tour stand out were the guides. They were friendly, considerate, and created a very relaxed atmosphere. They ask your fears beforehand to make sure you remain comfortable. They provided flashlights, took photos for us during the walk, and sent them afterward so we could fully enjoy the experience without worrying about pictures. The two-hour walk felt personal and engaging because the guides genuinely connected with us and made conversation flow naturally. They connected to details specific to my partner and I and made the experience cooler. I think we paid $35 a person. Overall, it was a relaxing and memorable experience that we would definitely recommend.

The night tour was really great!! We have seen a lot of animals and received explanations about the animals and plants. We really wanted to see spiders and we succeeded, right from the start.The guides were super friendly. Really recommended!! 😍 Thank you so much for the great tour!

We had a great time with Bernie and Erick on a tour last week! It was great how they were able to pick us up from our Airbnb and bring the four of us to the starting point. Bernie’s sense of humour definitely made for a fun experience. Erick went ahead of the group a tad to find some cool sightings while Bernie stayed with us and kept the conversation going. Bringing our attention not only to animals and reptiles but also some interesting points on the natural vegetation. Once Erick spotted something, he had a portable telescope at the ready so we could take a closer look (then snapped some photo’s that they sent us later so we could just enjoy the experience). Great time overall and highly recommend - especially because Bernie came to our rescue to jump start our rental car a couple days later!.

I had an amazing experience on the Owl Night Walk. The tour was incredibly engaging and full of surprises every step revealed new wildlife, from nocturnal creatures to fascinating insects and plants. Berny and Eric were knowledgeable and passionate, offering clear explanations about the local fauna while also weaving in Costa Rica’s natural and cultural history, which added so much depth to the walk. You could tell they also genuinely cared about conservation and education. It felt immersive, respectful to nature, and truly special. If you’re in Monteverde and want to see Costa Rica come alive at night, this tour is an absolute must

Erick and Bernie were fabulous guides . Erick kindly offered to pick us up from our accommodation and with just 4 of us on the tour we got a very detailed explanation and experience of the nighttime forest . We experienced and saw scorpions , frogs , sleeping birds , tarantulas , snakes , leaf cutter ants and many types of crickets . We got to smell many leaves and vegetation . Everything was explained in detail . Afterwards Erick sent us beautiful images taken through his telescope . Highly recommended .

This night jungle tour was truly one of the highlights of our time in Monteverde. We joined the tour as a couple and were amazed to have two guides dedicated to us, who were incredibly passionate, energetic, and knowledgeable. From the very first moment, you could feel how much they love the jungle and the wildlife. They took their time to explain everything in an engaging and easy-to-understand way, and their enthusiasm made the experience even more special. Thanks to their sharp eyes and expertise, we saw an incredible variety of wildlife: a snake, three scorpions, several birds, caterpillars, spiders, countless insects, and many fascinating plant species. The absolute highlight of the tour was spotting a toucan — something we didn‘t expect to see during a night walk and an unforgettable moment for us. This tour felt personal, authentic, and far beyond a standard wildlife walk. If you are looking for a night tour where guides truly care, share their passion, and make the jungle come alive after dark, this is an experience you should not miss. Highly recommended!

The tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and kind. The trail was pretty easy and full of different kinds of frogs, snakes, insects. Would recommend for people of all ages.

We made the tour with our two kids (8 and 11) and it was very interesting to discover all the insects by night. A very good experience that perfectly fits for families!
