Embárcate en un fascinante recorrido junto a nuestros guías naturalistas expertos mientras el sol se pone y el bosque cobra vida bajo la oscuridad. Esta es tu oportunidad de explorar los secretos del vibrante bosque de Santa Elena, un lugar mágico que pocos tienen la fortuna de descubrir durante la noche. Todas las noches a las 6:00 p.m., durante aproximadamente dos horas, serás testigo de la increíble transformación que ocurre en una de las regiones más biodiversas del mundo. Con grupos pequeños de un máximo de 9 personas, garantizamos una experiencia íntima y personalizada para que disfrutes al máximo de la naturaleza nocturna. Ofrecemos transporte dentro del área de Monteverde-Santa Elena, con recogidas desde las 5:30 p.m., dependiendo de la ubicación de tu hotel. Recomendamos usar zapatos cerrados, pantalón largo, una chaqueta ligera y traer una cámara para capturar momentos inolvidables. Discover the hidden treasures of the tropics’ most endangered habitat, the Cloud Forest. Only 2% of the world is a Cloud Forest. Join our Specialized Naturalist Guides in a Nature Quest. A journey that will take you into the Cloud Forest right after the sun sets in the horizon, and the darkness reveals the magical world few human eyes have ever witnessed. Every day at 6:00 p. m. and for approximately two hours you may experience the magical transformation that occurs within the heart of one of the most biodiversed forests in the world at Ficus Trails. At this time in the forest the protagonists are the animals that live in this habitat, where you can see some birds sleeping, as well as the nightlife of animals like some mammals that go out to eat at this time. Transportation, flashlights and Bilingual Naturalist Guides are always available. Closed shoes, light poncho, long pants, jacket and camera are highly recommended.

Mauricio was our guide and he put in a lot of effort to find some animals on our hike. He was very knowledgeable on the animal and plant species. He helped to get us some good photos of the animals we saw. We had an amazing time!
We were booked with Ficus Trails for a night tour and a bird watching experience the following morning. For the night tour we were armed with flashlights and rain jackets. Unfortunately for us, it was raining and Olman let us know it would be a quieter night. That being said, we did find walking sticks, spittle beetles, a tarantula, a wren in its nest, an opossum, a sleeping family of toucans, an armadillo, and a few others I can't remember. The following morning, Olman was kind enough to pick up directly from our hotel to get an earlier start. We headed out to a parking lot and saw all kinds of birds, including the blue-crowned mot-mot, after an hour or so we headed over to the Curi-Cancha Reserve. Mother nature, again was against us and it was overcast and dreary, but we did get to see and hear the unique three-wattled bellbird along with an amazing variety of hummingbirds.
This night tour was so much fun! We saw so many frogs, snakes, scorpions, a sleeping toucan, and even a porcupine! Our guide went out of his way to get good pictures of the animals for us by climbing through the jungle to get just the right angle. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about his job as you could see in his excitement the whole time!

Great option for a night tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable, and we saw many animals. The night experience is a must do in MonteVerde, even if you feel like you’ve seen it all during the day.

Oleman guided us perfectly to see the animals in the forest, it was amazing! Frogs, snakes, butterflies, possum, tarantulas, owls, and more, we saw everything we could see and it is very funny! 100% recommended

We signed up as a group of four, but the vendor didn’t pick us up. We are trying to get our money back. Although we received a notification from Viator two days before the event that our pick up time would be 6 PM, the vendor apparently sent something through WhatsApp there are pick up time would be 5:35. We didn’t receive that message until 610 on the pick up date only because another couple at the stop had received a message through WhatsApp. In the end, all six of us missed our trip and I believe the other couple is trying to get a refund as well.. the follow up between the vendor and Viator i was horrible so I cannot give a positive review for something I paid for him didn’t attend.

Our team later offered an alternative option for the same evening, although we understand it did not fit your schedule. Everything in the app told us where to be at the hotel at 6pm. We were at the spot where we were told to be at 5:50. Received a message through the app from the driver saying we had been left behind because we were late. Apparently there had been communication via an email (in the purchase receipt) that said we were going to be picked up at 5:35. Why would this information not be showing in the app under reservation details and pick up time? The reminder notice the day before the scheduled tour said 6 pm as well. The Viator app details for this night jungle tour also says “formal” for the recommended attire. Additionally there was another party (of 4) at the hotel waiting outside for the same tour. They were not picked up either. We asked our hotel receptionist if anyone associated with the tour company had been in looking/asking for us and she said no one had inquired about us. After several messages back and forth via the app, I received a call via what’s app about 6:30 pm telling us about the email at time of ticket purchase. The person I talked with offered a pick us up for a later tour ( 2 hours later) but we had a schedule conflict. They agreed to contact me the following day to discuss retribution and it’s been 2 days and we haven’t heard anything yet. Very disappointing.
