On this unique adventure from El Calafate, travelers will enjoy an unforgettable day exploring Monte León National Park — the only park in Argentina that combines sea, coast, and steppe. The day begins early aboard a 4x4 Overland vehicle, crossing the Patagonian steppe and spotting native wildlife such as guanacos, rheas, and foxes. Upon arrival at the park, guests will take a walk among Magellanic penguins to a viewpoint overlooking the cliffs. Next, the journey continues by 4x4 along the trail leading to the iconic rock formation known as “Lion’s Head” and the sea lion colony, where these magnificent animals can be observed in their natural habitat. The excursion then proceeds to the Monte León Island viewpoint, home to large colonies of cormorants and seabirds. As the sun sets, the return journey begins, offering one last chance to admire the vast Patagonian landscape. A complete experience of nature, wildlife, and adventure in an extraordinary setting.

The boat was huge so I was worried we would not be close but the boat went up really close to the penguins and sea lions and we had a good view.

I really expected more , in my opinion it is too long a journey that is not worth what you do and see when you arrive, the guide did not make it enjoyable either. The weather didn’t help for the supposed stops and sightings during the trip either, so we had a lot of miles per pointless pike. Too bad I lost a day. I do not recommend this excursion to Monte Leon, it should be noted that I did another excursion with this company and it was a nice experience,

Thanks to Patagonia Chic for her excellent work, during the excursion to Monte León 4x4 Wolves and Penguins, excellent guide Viviana with driver Fernando. Very comfortable overlander, and very rich snack. Wonderful experience to know these natural scenarios guided by you.
You’ll spend about 9 hours in a bus; 4 on unpaved roads. Our guide offered very little in terms of information or context. He was a nice person, but a poor guide. The sea lions were seen only from a far, so disappointing. The penguins were amazing.
A beautiful experience! It is a long trip on ripio for the first leg that luckily having such a cupid guide became super enjoyable, the foods they give you are very good, the transport in which they take you is super comfortable, although it is long for both the way and the return, when you arrive and see the penguins so close (you have them less than 20 cm) you feel that everything was worth it. Very happy with this experience and especially very happy with the tour by the guide and driver, very friendly and cupid. I recommend if they like penguins as much as I do that I almost start crying when I saw the first one:)
