Puerto Caldera is 1 hour 10min drive from Jaco where the Monkey forest is located and one of the main ports on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, located in the province of Puntarenas. It plays a crucial role in the country's maritime trade and tourism. Costa Rica’s largest cargo port on the Pacific side, handling containers, fuel, and bulk cargo and a frequent stop for cruise ships, welcoming tourists who often explore nearby attractions.
We will drive back to Playa Blanca a beautiful, tranquil beach on Costa Rica’s Central Pacific coast, known for its calm waters and lush surroundings. It’s a perfect spot for a peaceful beach day or a short getaway from Jaco. Ideal for swimming, paddleboarding, and kayaking, thanks to the gentle waves. You might spot sloth's, scarlet macaws, and iguanas in the surrounding forest.
Tárcoles is renowned for its traditional fishing community, where local fishermen use small boats and sustainable methods passed down through generations. You can visit the Tárcoles Fishing Cooperative (CoopeTárcoles R.L.), which promotes responsible fishing practices and sells fresh, locally caught seafood. Seafood lovers: The town is known for its fresh catches, including snapper, corvina, and shrimp.

Roger was great. We had a had a large group of family and he was able to accommodate all of us. When we said we didn't want to see something he pivoted and took us somewhere else. The definite highlight of the tour was the monkey house. I couldn't recommend the is tour enough!
We booked this tour and were told there was a system glitch, so Roger was unable to accommodate us as planned. He did offer alternate arrangements, which we appreciated, and assured us that everything from the original tour would still be included. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations. The guide who was sent did not speak English and had to rely on phone translation throughout the tour. While he did his best and was kind, a major reason we booked this tour was for the commentary and insights—so spending much of the time in silence was disappointing. Additionally, we were asked to pay in cash, which required an unplanned ATM visit and extra fees, adding to the frustration. Overall, we appreciate the effort to find a last-minute solution, but the experience fell short of what was promised, and we would not recommend this tour.

Unfortunately, that decision did not provide the level of service that I personally expect or that my guests deserve. I take full responsibility for that. This tour is one that I personally designed and normally operate myself, and because of your feedback, I have changed my internal policy. Going forward, if I am unavailable, I will no longer assign this particular tour to another guide. I would rather be fully booked than provide anything less than the experience my guests expect. I sincerely appreciate your comments because they helped me improve my business. An absolute blast! Roger was amazing and such a talented and thoughtful guide to have. He was super informative and really showed us a side to Costa Rica we hadn’t yet seen. Worth every second of time you will spend on this adventure. Book now so you don’t miss out!!

Roger was AMAZING and very accommodating to what our family was interested in seeing, he asked us questions to better hone in what was important to us for our experience. He was extremely pleasant and made our trip more amazing than I imagined. He was knowledgeable about the area, answered any questions we had and took us for lunch, which was amazing. He took us to see the monkeys, which we go to feed and allow to sit our our shoulders. We were a family of 4, 3 adults and 1 teenager. We will for sure use him again in our future trips to Costa Rica. "Customer service" should be Roger's first name!!!
For Starter, Roger Concierge CR, is definitely the Best Concierge that Costa Rica has to offer. Met him on a simple Uber ride share. Wanted to celebrate my Lovely Wife birthday. He suggested the monkey tour 🐒 crocodile bridge 🐊, a culture meal style lunch, Sloth Seeing 🦥, Playa Blanca Beach ⛱️, Take pics at Jaco View Point, and end the day with one of the best sunsets ever. We made a ton of New Memories on her Special Day. Roger recommended Claritas Restaurant for her Romantic Sunset Dinner and the atmosphere didn't disappoint 👌. She was so happy and I can truly say," Wifey's, Special Day was Exciting and Adventurous." If you don't use this guy in Costa Rica. You definitely didn't do it right!!! He is very knowledgeable, funny, family oriented, knows the culture, put others interest before his own, makes your dreams comes true. The places he suggested and took us to, were unimaginable.
