Excellent experience by Ricardo (Chilango Insider). Richard has a passion for CDMX and delights in showing both there well known aspects of the city, as well as the "insider" aspects. Bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, and be prepared for around 10,000+ steps over the period of the tour. Ricardo is always checking in to make sure you are comfortable and if any adjustments need to mer made. Highly recommend this excellent experience.
Ricardo is a wonderful guide! We really enjoyed the tour. It’s awesome to hear about the history and context, we really got to know the neighbourhood through a carefully curated path. Would recommend!
This was the perfect way to start my solo trip to CDMX. I ended up being the only guest, which made it feel like a private tour! My guide was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the city. We explored Condesa and Roma Norte while talking about the history, architecture, culture, food, and everyday life in Mexico City. I learned so much, got amazing recommendations for the rest of my trip, and left feeling much more comfortable navigating the city on my own. The conversation felt natural and engaging the entire time. If you’re visiting CDMX for the first time, I can’t recommend this tour enough. It gave me a much better appreciation for these beautiful neighborhoods and helped me discover places I never would have found on my own.
I had such a fun time with my friends, exploring the area and trying some food
I had previously spent some time wandering around Condesa and Roma Norte on my own, so I wasn’t sure how much I would get out of a guided tour, but the reviews sold me… and oh my goodness, I can’t believe I almost missed out on this experience! I learned SO much, visited iconic landmarks and picturesque hidden gems, laughed a lot, exceeded well over 10k steps, tried some delicious local treats, purchased handcrafted souvenirs, captured some incredible photos (Ricardo’s a great photographer!), and even made some new friends! Ricardo’s passion for his city and ability to share his knowledge with others is what really made this tour stand out. His storytelling is engaging and entertaining, and it feels less like a formal tour and more like exploring with a local friend. He goes beyond the obvious highlights and shares the rich local history, the influences behind the varying types stunning architecture, and the unique little details that give these neighborhoods their distinct personalities. This tour left me with a much deeper appreciation and understanding of these neighborhoods… not to mention a long list of local businesses and hidden gems to go back and explore. Truly one of my favorite experiences in Mexico City!
Ricardo is an excellent and very knowledgeable tour guide! He provided several historical facts along the tour and you can definitely tell he is passionate about the city of Mexico (: I recommend this tour if you’re interested in seeing the popular spots for locals, hidden gems, history, and architecture. Bring comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk! Bring an umbrella in case of rain.
It was an awesome experience! Richi knows Condesa and Roma very well, and as we walked through the neighborhoods, he shared lots of interesting information in a fun and engaging way. The tacos we tried were fantastic. I highly recommend this tour!
If you ever get the chance to explore Condesa and Roma Norte with Ricardo as your guide, don’t think twice — just say yes. Ricardo took us on an afternoon walk through two of Mexico City’s most iconic colonias, and what could have been a simple stroll turned into a genuinely memorable experience. He knew exactly where to look: the Art Deco facades most people walk right past, a hidden garden tucked behind an unmarked door, a stunning private library inside a historic cultural house, and a contemporary art installation inside a century-old rotunda. Every stop felt intentional and personal. What sets Ricardo apart is his genuine passion for the city. He doesn’t just show you places — he tells you why they matter, what makes them special, and what the neighborhood used to be. Even when the rain came down and we huddled under a doorway watching a Neo-Gothic church disappear into the clouds, it felt like part of the experience. If you love architecture, culture, history, or just want to fall in love with CDMX all over again — Ricardo is your guy. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
As someone who has lived in Mexico City for years, I wasn’t sure how much I could learn about Roma Norte and Condesa. I was pleasantly surprised. Ricardo has an incredible ability to tell fascinating stories that makes you see these neighborhoods with fresh eyes. Even places I had walked past countless times suddenly had a deeper meaning and context. The tour was engaging, well-paced, and full of interesting details and hidden spots that most locals probably don’t know. Ricardo’s passion for the city is contagious, and his knowledge is truly impressive. I would recommend this tour not only to visitors, but also to anyone from Mexico City who wants to rediscover their own city.
This was one of the best experiences we had in Mexico City. Ricardo is incredibly knowledgeable about the history, architecture, culture, and evolution of Roma Norte and Condesa, but what really sets him apart is how engaging and personable he is. The tour felt less like a traditional walking tour and more like exploring the city with a local friend. We visited beautiful parks, hidden courtyards, art spaces, cafés, and places we never would have discovered on our own. Ricardo paced the tour perfectly, checked in on everyone, and shared fantastic recommendations for the rest of our stay. By the end, we felt we truly understood these neighborhoods and the city itself. If you’re visiting Mexico City and want an authentic, insightful, and memorable experience, this tour is absolutely worth it.
