Lots of fun making and eating. Learned a few things about making pasta. I actually bought a pasta making machine the next day
A wonderful Sunday afternoon spent with Stefania and her family, learned so much in 3 hours. Highly reccomended
We had such a lovely time with Stefania and her son! Perfect hosts for this experience(: they welcomed us in to their home and showed how to make two varieties of pasta dishes. They provided delicious appetizers including a fresh made focaccia and traditional Sicilian options to put with it. Not to mention the tiramisu she made for dessert was the best we’ve ever had!! During our lunch we were also given lots of recommendations for local places to see the views of Messina. I would recommend this experience to all! 10/10!
This was so much fun! I highly recommend. We were welcomed as if we were family. I cannot wait to perfect my pasta making skills at home.
This is a real, authentic Italian pasta making experience. We were in an authentic Italian home with real Nonna’s using their family recipe.
The host was lovely and warm but the whole experience felt underwhelming. We did not make tiramisu or offered any dessert. Cooking only lasted about 30 min and the rest of the time we had apertivo and ate our meal. The meal was delicious.
We had a wonderful time from start to finish on this unforgettable cooking class in Messina! The chef and her husband are lovely and welcomed us into their lovely home. We chose to have them pick us up from the cruise port and take us back which was extra but so worth it for the convenience and we got to chat with him and learn more about their family before the class started. The pasta was so much fun to make while being so easy! The kids even loved to participate in rolling the dough out and putting it through the machine. We also made tiramisu which was probably the best I’ve ever had! You will not be disappointed at all with this experience!
Maria’s home was a delight once we got there. Loved being in a locals home . Extremely Warm Hearts!! The pasta was so delicious, and participated in making. The tiramisu was already prepared and ready for us to eat. The BEST I’ve ever eaten!! I suppose language barrier was our biggest hurdle We were directed to one address to get there and then last minute were redirected to Maria’s home who hosted It was much further away . 20 min taxi ride We ended up being an hour late The hostess did not speak English at all so this made for quite an adventure both while finding the location and when we called her to let her know we were late . Fortunately some really helpful Sicilians directed us and helped us find a taxi to the class. Again, we absolutely LOVED being in a Sicilians home for lunch . Our family is always up for an adventure!! Definitely more a once in a lifetime experience ,more so than a cooking class.
Daniela opened up her beautiful home to us and we had the BEST experience learning how to make homemade pasta. She was the nicest and most welcoming host. Highly recommend!!!
I went on a Mediterranean cruise last month and I was put in charge of planning the excursions. I decided to surprise my parents with a cooking class in Sicily as our daily outing. My dad loves cooking, especially Italian, and I knew he would love it. It was such a fun, and unique activity, so different from the excursions we had been experiencing over the past few days. We found our host easily who was ready to pick us up at the meeting point. She drove us 15-20 minutes to her home which was a neat experience. As we arrived at her home, her kitchen was nicely set up, ready for us to begin the cooking class. The view was also unreal! Our host didn't speak much English but it was no problem as she used Google Translate to help with her instructions. We made 4 different recipes! tiramisu, bruschetta, pesto fettucini, and spinach/ricotta ravioli. THIS WAS THE BEST FOOD I HAVE EVER EATEN! It was fabulous! Our host was also very kind and attentive to my mother who has a milk/cheese allergy. She had other options for her without cheese. This was by far one of the highlights of our 15 day trip!
