The tour company reached out with an explanation about how the tour was different and had us complete a questionnaire to customize the tour. Thought that was great. However, the assigned tour guide changed three times. With the final guide indicating she knew little or next to nothing about us. The 2nd guide canceled that morning and assigned someone. It should have been canceled. Not a great experience.
Ramon was a really nice guy but lacked the knowledge of a true local. He has lived in Melbourne for a year which is less than the 6 times we have visited over the years. Didn't really gain any new knowledge or insight. He needed to Google directions for the most famous places in Melbourne, which i actually knew how to find. I think lokafy need to look at their overall brief for what they class as 'private tour with a local'. I have used this company many times. Another guide we had, again in Melbourne, was a lovely German chap who had lived here for just 1 month prior and we ended up guiding him!! We understand that it is not a history tour etc, but sadly, we learnt nothing new, although Ramon was a really nice guy.
