Endless selling of products, Spa without guidance and rushed tour throug the proces of coffee

The pickup and drop off is on public transport far from the city. The tour has no time management and structure. They first take you to some bar where they take quite some time of the tour offering their products for sale. There is not enough personal and you have to wait for service as personell do various things (selling, explaining coffie types, massaging etc) There is no guidance for the spa and no clear structure nor time keeping they just tell you to change ang hang out. After massage there was no water to rinse off the scrub as they use it to rinse coffee at the same time we had to wait. Also you need to wait on the use of bath. The part of the coffee tour about the coffee process was rushed because of the time. Either they take to much bookings in same time frame or they lack personell . we were suppose to finish around 5 pm but we're dropped of around 8 at a busstop in a village unknown to us 4 ladies. In the original tour you would be dropped of at the cable station. The personell was hard working and tried to attend us and other guest in the limited timeframe. We did make it home safely. The concept is nice but it needs far better organisation.

Operator response

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We sincerely appreciate your comments, as they help us improve our experience. We are sorry to hear that certain aspects of your visit did not meet your expectations. Our goal is to provide a relaxing and authentic coffee and wellness experience, and we regret that issues related to scheduling, waiting times, transportation, and service coordination affected your enjoyment. We take your observations seriously. We are currently reviewing our booking capacity, staffing levels, spa procedures, and transportation logistics to ensure a smoother and more organized experience for future guests. We would also like to clarify that our coffee bar is intended to introduce visitors to our specialty coffee products and local culture, but we understand that the timing may have felt excessive during your visit. We are pleased to know that you found our team hardworking and that you appreciated the concept of combining a coffee tour with a spa experience. Your recognition of our staff's efforts means a lot to us. Thank you again for your honest feedback. We are committed to making improvements and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future for a much better experience. Kind regards, Don Leandro Coffee Farm Team

Activity not as Described. Tour is much Longer than 3 hours.

Where do I begin. For starters this tour listing does NOT accurately reflect the entire DURATION of this activity. It states 3 hours total starting at 10am. I was contacted the day before and was told I was to meet my guide at 9am. We did not make it back to the end point until 4:30pm. The listing says it is about three hours in duration which is how much time I set aside for my day, but BE ADVISED the listing does NOT include travel time. This tour lasted approximately 7 HOURS TOTAL. They offer food there (tamales) that you can pay for so either eat breakfast or expect to buy this or be hungry. The posting does not say you need to bring extra cash as you will be buying your tickets for the Metro BOTH there and back and the cable cars to Arvi Park. So bring Cash. Spa: Mineral Bath never offered. The posting also does not say you should bring a swimsuit. BRING A swimsuit because they will charge you for the disposable ones and believe me when I say they don't cover much at all. Massage was okay and that's being generous, I don't like the fact that I felt exposed in this disposable bikini and people could walk by the steam room and see me lying on the table getting a massage possibly. Also, when the massage was over I was expecting to get in the mineral bath, but they didn't make it an option (the couple in my group got to do it). I don't understand why this happened. Be advised that if you get this with the massage oil your skin will smells like this for 1-2 days minimum. Coffee Tour: I got to see how coffee was made and plant my own coffee tree which was pretty cool. This WILL be a muddy activity if it rained the day before. I suggest bringing a pair of shoes you would be okay with throwing away possibly or some boots. I also suggest wearing something you don't mind getting dirty (Like workout clothes//leggings/shorts) and will not need for the rest of you trip unless you have access to a washer etc. When the tour was over we had no guide back via Metro as our guide stayed behind. How is this acceptable? Myself and the other couple on this tour were under the impression that we would have a guide all back to the starting point because that’s what it states on the booking; Starts/Ends at the meeting point. Luckily the woman of the couple I was with spoke Spanish and was able to help guide us back via Metro. If I was by myself I would have been panicking having to ride the cable cars & metro back by myself and not sure which stop to get off on. This is also not okay and disappointing. I will say that the guide himself was very friendly, nice, and this review is not a reflection upon him, but the provider of this tour & creator of this activity listing. It needs to be updated to accurately reflect the details I cannot in good conscious recommend this tour to anyone, unless you're willing to waste your time and money. The duration not being as described inconvenienced the entire rest my day in Medellin and my plans therefore after. I would have not booked had I known this and am therefore highly disappointed.

A fast-paced birthday

Tremendous estate and people! From the goat who picked us up when we need help to the attention and teaching of our guide Mary. What they offered exceeded expectations but by far. Thanks for letting us plant coffee! 🌱

Spa and Tour of Coffee Farm

This was the highlight of my trip to Medellín. This was a great way to learn about the production of coffee and was relaxing, as well. A sauna, spring, and massage was included for the spa portion. After we planted our own coffee tree and made our own coffee.

Selling the worst coffee they have!

After a coffee tour, the guides often sell bags of coffee in attractive packaging. However, to my surprise, the coffee inside can be of the lowest quality—beans that should have been discarded instead of sold for profit. Naturally, nobody opens the bags on site to check the contents. Only when people are home, far away, do they discover the truth, by which point it’s too late to return it. The worst part is that most people purchase these bags as gifts for friends and family, unknowingly giving away something that is essentially garbage. The beans are very small and it comes with lots of chaff. My coffee machine started making a strange noise when grinding that coffee. I had to remove the coffee before it got damage. Beware!

Disappointing Experience Due to Poor Communication and Disorganization

While the actual tour activities were enjoyable (coffee-making demonstration, massage, and coffee body scrub), the poor organization and customer service significantly detracted from the experience. Communication Issues: - Despite messaging the company multiple times for confirmation, I only received essential details less than 12 hours before the tour - We were suddenly told we needed bathing suits (which we hadn't brought) or would have to purchase them on-site - Transportation costs were quoted at one price, then doubled the morning of the tour - Meeting instructions were vague, leading to confusion at the metro station Day-of Problems: - Our guide was visibly annoyed when we went to the "wrong entrance" (no specific meeting spot had been provided) - Constant upselling throughout the experience - Payment confusion: we were told swimsuits were complimentary, then asked to pay the driver cash 10 minutes after leaving (we only had cash for tickets and expected to pay by card) - Had to resolve payment issues via Zelle after the fact The tour itself had potential, but better organization, clearer upfront communication, and professional customer service would have made this a much more enjoyable experience. The last-minute changes and payment confusion left us feeling frustrated rather than relaxed.

Lots of room for improvement

I hate to leave a negative review, but unfortunately, this tour was not worth the price and overall fell short of expectations. We did four different tours during our time in Colombia that we absolutely loved—this one, however, was the most expensive and the most disappointing. There’s definitely room for improvement. We were originally told to meet at 10 a.m. at the top of Parque Arví, and we confirmed this with the tour company the night before. However, a separate guide began messaging us from a different WhatsApp number about a new meeting location—something we didn’t catch in time. As a result, we spent money to Uber to the original meeting point and waited over an hour there due to the confusion. We were told several times to eat beforehand because we’d be drinking a lot of coffee. In reality, we only had two tiny cups and no real tasting experience. The itinerary wasn’t clearly communicated, and we were left unsure of what to expect. The one highlight was the couples massage—it was excellent—but it ended with a cold shower in rainy weather, which wasn’t ideal. Once on-site, we were also met with several upsells. We paid extra for tamales and beer (which really should have been included), along with a few take-home items like wine and coffee that we were happy to purchase. While we made the best of it and laughed at the situation, I wouldn’t recommend this experience—there are definitely better ways to spend six+ hours in Medellín.

Great coffee farm near medellin

Really lovely coffee farm in the mountains behind Park Arvi. Guest was very generous with his time and picked up/dropped off guests on the metro. Don Leandro coffee farms has a great view over the valley with lush landscape. I didn't know a massage would be included which was a nice treat. The lunch (for an extra fee) was totally worth it.

Wonderful experience. We...

Wonderful experience. We were a group of four and came to celebrate me and my aunt's birthday. They had a special gift planned for us. The tour was interesting and fun. The spa experience was no frills but relaxing nonetheless.
