Mdina, Rabat, Dingli cliffs, San Anton gardens, Ta' Qali & Mosta guided tour

Description
Today’s guided excursion takes us to the central part of Malta, dominated by the medieval fortified city of Mdina, Malta’s former capital city. The narrow, winding streets, dating back to medieval times, lead to the imposing bastions, commanding a magnificent panorama of the island. On the way there, you will discover different styles of architecture, including Siculo-Norman palaces and other baroque buildings of great historical importance. Time stands still in this ‘Silent City’ which is a film-maker’s paradise. Leaving Mdina through Greeks’ Gate, we stop at the early Christian catacombs in Rabat before proceeding to the cliffs at Dingli. After lunch we will visit the San Anton botanical gardens situated near the Presidential Palace, which you will be able to admire from outside. We shall also spend time at the crafts centre at Ta’ Qali. At the end of the tour, allow us to astound you with Mosta’s majestic dome, one of Europe’s largest.

3 stars because of wasted time waiting for van to take us to another location to divide the group to go in different language groups. With only one day to see Malta, we had to minimize the time spent on other things we planned. Frustrating for sure. Our English guide was friendly and thorough.
This was a great way to see the centre of the island. Very well organised. Our guide took us to Mosta first but this felt a litttle rushed as very little time to take pictures from the outside. Then we went to a craft village to see jewellery making and glass blowing. Quite interesting to see how it was done and a chance to look at souvenirs. Then came lunch. Wow a 3 course dinner with wine. If you don’t drink however you have to purchase your own soft drinks. Then we went to Mdina and Rabat. Lovely quaint streets and if you’re lucky enough like me you might see them all decorated for a celebration. The Dingli cliffs were a huge disappointment though as I think we were taking to a part that was less dramatic. We ended up In the San Antonio gardens which was pleasant although the highlight here was seeing turtles swimming in the pond and a peacock that just strolled up to us. 30 minutes is probably enough time there as not much else to see. Great trip however. Really enjoyed it
As expected, nothing stimulating, and one misses the story. A lot of wasted time changing buses.
Fantastic way to see multiple locations on the beautiful island of Malta. Only part we did not like was the included lunch. Would have preferred free time to get our own lunch. Tour guide was wonderful in keeping the group together. Enjoyable day.
Our guide Jean Paul was friendly, funny and welcoming, keeping the day moving at a nice pace and successfully corralling 43 people of various ages and mobilities. Long busy day but informative and fun guide. All sites were worth visiting except Dingli Cliffs although we were only there 10 minutes and the story is worth hearing. Coach driver Alan negotiated some very tight areas with aplomb. Lunch was pesto pasta starter, pork and veg main with a date pastry dessert. Ran to schedule.
A very good experience, pleasent that becaise the company who organized this trip, especially the guide Ian, if I remember well. It os worth it 100%!
Somewhat disappointing. The guide was somewhat repetitive and sparse in explanations. The worst part, after 2 hours of walking, is that having no water included in the menu is incomprehensible. We had to pay €2 per bottle. The wine, free..... All the hikers complained....
The sights were very interesting to see, but I was hoping for more of a traditional market like the Marsalokk Sunday Market. The Ta’ Qali craft village was a bit too touristy for my personal tastes.
I enjoyed this day tour very much. Our guide was very knowledgeable and I enjoyed learning about the history and culture of Malta. I enjoyed all the places we were taken to - they were all very beautiful and interesting.
Great tour to many attractions of Malta! Our guide explained the story very well and gave insights into life in Malta today.
