Easy but delayed pick up. The bus ride was cold. But the views were amazing and worth it. I would recommend this experience.
This was the most informative Tour that I have ever been on. Preston, our tour guide, was amazing. Highly recommend!
Super great trip! Our tour guide Alfredo was awesome! A few things to note: 1) We thought there would be some hiking involved, but they actually drive you right to the viewing area 2) It's super windy / cold up there! It was 62 degrees but felt like 30 with the wind. Definitely wear layers! If you didn't pack warm stuff for Hawaii, you can do what we did, which was pick up sweatpants and a warm layer workout top at Target. 3) The drive up is windy and through high altitude. We were fine but I think if you are prone to car sickness, you might want to skip this. 4) Bring cash to tip the driver tour guide!
EXCELLENT! We are so glad we did this experience. Preston was the best tour guide I’ve ever had. Not just in Hawaii or Maui but EVER. He is kind, courteous, knowledgeable, and just an amazing dude. He made the experience one of a kind. 14/10 would recommend booking and requesting Preston.
Preston was a super driver and tour guide. Super-knowledgeable, attentive, and patient when we forgot to follow a few instructions. His smooth, quiet driving allowed us to sleep on our way up to the Haleakalā viewpoint. There he shared insights, before we exited the bus, and while we were viewing the sunrise on one side and shadow on the other, he shared historical, geological, geographical insights; for example, directing my daughter, who he overheard saying she likes rocks, to a multi-colored rock. On the way down, Preston offered a good balance between more education and quiet, relaxing Hawaiian music. We all agreed that the breakfast was great, and the location - with charming market and shops - was worth revisiting. At sunrise, even with a “warm” temp in the high 40s Fahrenheit, we were happy to be wearing 3 layers, with a hotel blanket - that my daughter ended up loaning to a stranger she overheard complain that she was freezing. Our hotel pillow also came in handy on bus. One more bonus worth mentioning is the hot instant coffee and chocolate, plus yummy treats, waiting when we return to the bus after chilly sunrise-viewing. It was a Polynesian Adventure that exceeded our expectations and was well-worth the cost!
We did not get the breakfest, I couldnt select our tour. The tour Alfredo was great. It was a great adventure. Too cloudy to see stuff but it was still nice.
The sunrise tour was amazing and our guide Alfredo ( Al Pacino) was very thorough and knowledgeable. The sunrise was incredible and Al started singing, it brought tears to my eyes.
The moment the sun came up was breathtaking.
Preston was amazing!!! Hands down one of the best tour guides! Super funny, thoughtful and went out of his way to make us all have an amazing time :)
Preston was an incredible guide. Very knowledgeable and funny. He always showed us interesting things that many people miss when doing this excursion. He gave my daughter a jacket and hat when he noticed she was cold and my son loved the hot coco. I feel so lucky we got to experience this today. :)
