Matera is. must-see and you should have a guide to see the highlights since it is a big place. Highly recommended !
Our tour guide Mihaela was punctual and very knowledgeable of one of the oldest cities in the world. The driver who picked us up Mattias was great as he gave us outstanding tips and recommendations about how to have more fun in the region. The two comments that caused the loss of the star are: 1) it felt that she was rushing through the tour by looking at her phone quite often 2) the cost including the pick up from Bari was not reported up front and it should have been 3) Matera cannot be covered in two hours or less, the time the tour guide was with us.
This was a great tour. Mahaela was a wonderful guide, knowledgeable and lots of fun. She recommended a great restaurant at the end of the tour. We booked this at the last minute but she managed to book the tour and arrange excellent transportation. I highly recommend this tour.
