TOUR AVAILABLE FOR CRUISE PASSENGERS ONLY (as the port of Marseille is a secure area that only cruise passengers can access). We adapte the tour according to your docking times. Immerse yourself in the beautiful Provence wine region! You will get 2 private visits of high-quality wineries, carefully selected by our wine experts. With your guide and the other guests ( 8 persons maximum in total), discover the best of Provence appellations and learn about the grape varieties Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault … and the complex art of blending. This wine tour is a great opportunity to taste some of the finest Rosés from Provence but also powerful reds, and aromatic and lively whites. You will complete your shore excursion by visiting one of the most beautiful Provence towns/cities: Cassis or Aix en Provence or Lourmarin. A great way to sample the local life, go shopping or get a change to enjoy the delicious french food thanks to the restaurant recommendations from your guide!

Itinerary
You'll meet your english-speaking wine expert guide at the Marseille cruise pier. He will drive you in a comfortable & A/C minivan accommodating up to 8 people. You'll visit 2 wineries along the day, go behind the scenes to learn all about the wine making process while visiting the aging rooms. Your guide will explain you about the soil, the climate, the grape varieties, the "terroir" but also the picking, the pruning, green harvesting...in a relaxed and educational way. You'll taste some of the finest Rosés powerful and well-balanced reds, and also aromatic and lively whites. Your guide will teach you how to taste like a pro You will get about 2h free time to lunch and visit in one of the most beautiful towns/ cities of the area: the charming little port of Cassis, or the picturesque village of Lourmarin or the lively and elegant city of Aix en Provence. You'll be back to Marseille Cruise Port around 4/4.30pm ( other return time possible - to be defined with you after your booking).

Pickup Locations & Times
Departure Point: At Marseille Cruise Pier, where your cruise ship will dock. When you'll go out the cruise ship, you'll see several guides holding signs. About 5 minutes before the wine tour departure time, look for someone holding a "Provence Wine Tour" sign. Address: We can not provide any precise adress as it will depend on where your cruise ship will dock on that day. (There are several location possible in the large Marseille Cruise Port). However, we are in contact with the Port authorities and we will make sure to come to the dedicated pier where your ship will dock on that day.

- Departure/ return times will be confirmed after your booking and may change according to your cruise ship docking times.
- If we can not adapt our wine tour departure & return times to your cruise ship docking times, we will propose you an alternative or will give you a refund.
- Minimum number of 6 participants applies. The excursion can be cancelled after your booking if the minimum of participants is not reached. In such situation, we will propose you an alternative or will give you a refund.
- Don't forget to bring appropriate shoes, sun protection (sunglasses, hat, sunscreen...) and a water bottle

A wonderful day of discovery with excellent wines, and what can I say about the Provençal decor! A short stop for lunch in Aix-en-Provence to discover the charm of the area. Very satisfied with our excursion and the guide Eric, who was very attentive.

This was the perfect tour for our family. Anya was a fantastic guide and took us to two fantastic wineries and then free time in Cassis. We had a fantastic lunch and my wife enjoyed strolling through the shops. Anya was very personable, knowledgeable and just a joy to be around. What a great tour!!

Great guide who was also the driver. He was very knowledgeable and patient with questions. The vehicle was extremely clean and his driving was impeccable. We visited two lovely wineries and got to spend a couple of hours in Aix.

Our driver was not at the ship at the scheduled time. No one informed us that he was going to be late so we got nervous and started walking to find him at perhaps another pier all the while trying to get in touch with Viator. We finally got in touch with Viator only to find out he was going to be late. Not a great start to ended up being a fabulous tour.

We had a wonderful experience on our tour with a professional guide, who explained quite a bit about the region itself and the food and wine and culinary processes. We went to two wineries met the owner in one and the manager in the other. We tasted three different wines at each winery And got to walk amongst the grapes in the vineyard. Between the two visits we got to relax and have a lunch in the seaside village of Cassie. This was a very picturesque little village right on the water with many cafés and shops close by. I would definitelyrecommend this tour to others. The small group was for six people, and it was me my wife, my mother-in-law, and my brother-in-law as well as another couple who joined the group.

Our tour guide Loris met us right at the cruise port and led us on a awesome day of winetasting and sightseeing in the Provence region of France. Our morning was spent wine tasting at 2 separate vineyards each with their own distinctive methods for making wine. It provided a nice contrast and both make delicious wines. We then headed to the town of Aix-en Provence for a delicious lunch recommended by the tour company (They made the reservation for us weeks in advance) After lunch there was time to explore this lovely little town before Loris dropped us back at the port. They even handled the shipping back to the US of wines we purchased from the vineyards. It was an amazing excursion better than anything our ship could have provided.
