Marseille Guided Tour for 4 Hours with a Bilingual Local Guide

Description
“The best way to know a city is to walk it.” Simone de Beauvoir, renowned French writer, was right. And it is especially true for Marseille. Marseille is unique, a city with 100 personnalities, an oxymoron where calm and noise live together in a chaotic harmony. The oldest city in France, 2600 years old, still has a young beating heart, and the best way to feel it is to simply walk on it. On this tour of 8 people maximum, you'll experience and discover, with a local, passionate and bilingual guide, what makes Marseille, Marseille. We will wander through the small and only walkable streets of Le Panier, learn about Marseille's rich history one monument after the other. We will climb to Notre Dame de la Garde, overlooking the panoramic view of the city, see hidden gems that can be only seen on foot, lose ourselves in Le Roucas Blanc, and go back in time visiting the little fishing port of Le Vallon des Auffes. And so, so much more. Join us exploring this southern treasure.

A walking tour with a knowledgeable guide is the best way to see marseille. Our guide Caroline was knowledgeable and passionate about her city.
Our guide Charles was awesome. He took us all over Marseille and we learned a lot about the history and life in the city. It was a small group which made the experience even better. After the tour Charles sent us a list of places to eat which was very helpful. This is an active walking tour so expect to walk a lot, some stairs and hills. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience Marseille in a short time.
Caroline is an excellent tour guide. She is a wealth of information about the city of Marseille and its history. I don't think you could find a better value than this 4 hour tour. My wife and I are both in our seventies. The walk is a bit of a workout but we managed to mostly keep up with the group. Can't say enough good things about Caroline and the tour. I highly recommend this as one of the first things you do in Marseille as you will have a good feel for the city after the tour.
Our Guide, Caroline, was superb. She gave us information about the history of Marseille and made it all so interesting. She had a notebook with photos that supplemented her talk. Very much enjoyed.
What an excellent tour! I was a bit concerned as I don’t walk up hills happily, but Charles assured me that since I do love walking this tour would be fine. The amount of walking was considerable, though Charles paced the tour so well that it was all very doable and completely enjoyable. It was a beautiful day and the other people on the tour were wonderful companions. We saw and learned so much and the time flew by. Marseille somehow became more beautiful to me as we walked. It was a great way to see the city with an amazing, kind guide. So glad I chose this tour. Merci beaucoup, Charles!
