Itinerary
The Koutoubia Mosque, the city's largest mosque, derives its name from its historical association with bookshops and booksellers. Following a traditional Almohad architectural style, its tower is adorned with four copper globes. Miniature replicas of the mosque are widely sold in Morocco, attesting to its popularity.
Then, pause at the Kasbah, a historic neighbourhood that served as a fortified royal district. Its narrow streets and traditional architecture offer a glimpse into the life and heritage of the city’s past. Nearby, admire Bab Agnaou, a grand 12th-century gateway with intricate stone carvings, historically serving as the royal entrance to the Kasbah.
The Saadian Tombs, dating from the time of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur, house the remains of about sixty members of the Sa’adi Dynasty. Rediscovered in 1917 and carefully restored, these tombs have become a prominent attraction in Marrakech, serving as the final resting place for members of the dynasty from the Dra’a Valley beyond the high Atlas Mountains.
El Bahia Palace, “the palace of the beautiful” was built for Ahmed Ibn Moussa between 1894 and 1900 in the then-popular Alaoui style. There are 160 different rooms in the palace around little courtyards, which were, according to rumour, chiefly occupied, by an increasing number of concubines. The beautiful decorations are stucco panels, zellij decorations, tiled floors, carved cedar ceilings, shiny marble finishes (a special Marrakesh finish called tadelakt and used in all the city's riads’ bathrooms) and painted ceilings. The palace is surrounded by an eight-hectare garden.
The bustling souks are the heart of Marrakesh, offering an array of traditional Moroccan handicrafts, spices, medicinal remedies, and local entertainment. Visitors can find iconic items like babouches, leather goods, garments, pottery, tajine dishes, and silver jewellery. Bargaining is a common practice, adding a sense of fun and excitement to the shopping experience.
End your journey immersed in the essence of Marrakech, where architectural marvels, vibrant markets, and a rich cultural heritage come together to create unforgettable memories of a truly unique experience.

This is a comprehensive overview of Marrakech. Our guide, Yassine, was both friendly, entertaining, and knowledgeable. It was a great way to spend our first morning.
Ali was a great guide and had a really fun sense of humour. He gave really thorough and easy-to-understand explanations of the history and details of the palace and tombs. He was also great at answering a range of fun questions about the language and culture of Marrakesh which was brilliant for us! Just a note for those booking - this is not a guided Souk experience/tour, we didn't get into that at all really!
5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Youssef was super knowledgeable and made the tour really enjoyable and fascinating he also speeds up getting tickets by us giving him the cash for the Bahia palace and saadan tombs which was convenient😄 much more relaxing to wander the souks and Medina with the tour guide.
Younis was an excellent guide . Provided some really insightful history and details of key landmarks within the Medina . A really helpful tour if you have limited time and want to visit the main landmarks within the old city .
To be honest, our guide Yassin was very entertaining and spoke English quite well. He was friendly, welcoming, and made the experience enjoyable from start to finish. He shared interesting information throughout the tour, answered our questions patiently, and kept everyone engaged. His positive attitude and sense of humor made the day even more memorable. We truly appreciated his professionalism and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a fun and informative experience.
Ali was a great guide and provided us with plenty of information and taught us a lot of the history and culture of Marrakech and Morocco.
A great morning with Ali Atwa. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and keen to answer any questions. Ali managed our group with good care, getting us around all the sights of interest at a manageable pace, despite the heat and was also happy to recommend good restaurant options for lunch when the tour was finished.
We did our tour with Hassan, who was a great teacher of not only the history of Marrakesh and the landmarks we visited, but also about Morrocan culture, islam and their worldview. We left the tour feeling inspired and so glad we took it. It was truely a lesson.
This tour was very informative and fun. Our guide, Younes, was knowledgeable and kept it interesting. He also took photos for us and gave us useful recommendations for the city. Top notch guide!
