Itinerary
2 hours travel time from San Sebastian to La Rioja. After picking you up in your hotel or residence, we will drive through the beautiful valleys of the green Basque Country.
FULL WINERY TOUR AT MARQUES DE RISCAL: Our first stop will be the world famous Marques de Riscal winery, best winery in the world! You will join a small group tour with less than 25 people, get a full winery tour and taste 3 of their best wines together with some local snacks.
WINE TASTING AT YSIOS WINERY: Our second stop will be at the amazing Ysios winery. Since their opening in the year 2000 it has become the most iconic building in the whole region. Here we will visit the building and you will have the opportunity to taste 2 of their premium wines together with cheese, serrano ham and cold meats. We will tell you all about the building and the architect that created it: Santiago Calatrava
PHOTO STOP OF LAGUARDIA: Next we will visit the medieval town of Laguardia; a Xth century walled town, and one of the most beautiful towns in the Basque Country
LUNCH INCLUDED: either at the town or Laguardia or some other town nearby, you will enjoy the fabulous three course meal with wine and dessert! Vegetarian options will be available

Pick up or drop off in different cities: we can pick you up or drop you off in different cities, for example picking up in San Sebastian and dropping off in Bilbao, only in case that you book on our website. If you book here we only pick up in San Sebastian and drop off in San Sebastian.

Anton was great and really informative. The wineries were amazing and Ysios was my favourite (tasting wise) but both were a great experience. Anton was kind, attentive and always willing to help out with any requests. A great day.
Excellent tour of the Rioja as a day trip from San Sebastian. Our guide Anton was so knowledgeable on the history of Spain and the area - we learnt a lot. Visited 2 great wineries and a great full tour of the marques de riscal and had a lovely lunch at a local restaurant. But the car ride was longer than expected as we went via Bilbao to pick up passengers, which they do tell you could happen. Got picked up at 7.40am and we arrived at the first stop at 11am so just be prepared for that.
Wonderful experience with Anton, our guide / driver for the tour. We had an excellent time at both Marques de Riscal and Ysios, and the town of Laguardia. Highly recommend this tour!!
What a wonderful visit to La Rioja wineries with our guide, Anton. We took a private tour with friends and enjoyed the lovely drive from San Sebastián with Anton’s expert and interesting commentary on the beautiful landscape and of course, the fascinating history. The wineries were also lovely -our guide at Marques de Riscal was fabulous, as was the tasting! A visit to La Guardia, where we ate a delicious and reasonable lunch, made the day more special. A full memorable day!
It was a wonderful journey and day. Our driver and guide was marvelous and shared a lot of knowledge wirth us of the area, the Riorja district and a lot of other things. We had a lot of good and interesting conversations dueing the day. The two Wineries were amazing and the tour and guiding in Marques de Riscal was very nice and interesting. Finally we had a fantastic lunch in Lomardia at a restaurant recommended by Anton. Thank you very much for a marvelous experience.
This experience was beyond marvelous! Not only did we learn about the production of such magnificent wines, but we tasted them in the most magical Gehry and Calatrava’s architectural buildings possible. Our guide Anton made this trip so special, we would do it again!

We had an excellent custom wine tour with North Coast Tours! We worked with Monica to create a custom tour for our group with stops at 3 wineries plus an excellent stop for lunch. And our driver Anton was great, he had lots of knowledge of the region and helpful suggestions for our trip!

What a fabulous, luxurious experience. Anton was such an amazing tour guide. He was so knowledgeable, accommodating and truly showed us the region in a unique way. We went on the architecture and wine tour. I would highly recommend this experience. Relax, drink wine and tour the beautiful Spanish countryside without worrying about driving. A+ all the way!
