This cooking class was awesome! The food was delicious (especially the caramelized plantains) and Sergio was very friendly, making this experience unforgettable. We would highly recommend this class!
We are so happy you had such an awesome time with us! It’s our goal to make our cooking classes as fun as they are delicious, so hearing that it was an unforgettable experience means the world to our team. I’ll be sure to pass your kind words along to Sergio. Thank you for the high recommendation—we hope to see you again for another 'tasty' lesson!
Our tour of the botanical garden was very interesting and educational. But the best part was the cooking class. Sergio made it not only helpful but also fun and entertaining. The meal was a great representation of Costa Rican fare and we gobbled it all down. The dessert at the end was incredible. And we received all the recipes!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that our guide made the experience engaging and enjoyable for your whole group. It’s great to know you loved the experience. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you all again in the future! ✨
Best esperienze with Sergio and Eli. The Casado was great and the view from the kitchen was amazing. Higly recommanded.

Local flavours. We were picked up from our hotel, turned out we got a private tour as no one else had booked that day. I loved that. Upon arrival, we got to go pick ingredients ourselves. We got to try some tamarind juice, homemade wine.. we made tortillas, a plantain ceviche and chicken casada. It was so much fun and so delicious! I highly recommend. We learned about the culture, what goes into growing such ingredients, learnt about the family that owns the farm. Just a delight. We even got to see some monkeys on the way there. They stopped so we could take pictures. What a lovely family. I wish them prosperity and only good things. You have to do this tour!
Hello dear Marie, we truly appreciate your nice comments about our guide and experience in general. We wish you a safe travel back home and please dont forget to mention about us to any of your friends and family coming down here. Pura vida! :) rrh
The cooking class was awesome and very enjoyable. Sergio was a great guide and cooking instructor as well as just an overall fun guy to talk with while cooking. The class was easy enough for anyone to participate while still keeping the more experienced chefs engaged! I would recommend to anyone heading to Antonio Manuel to sign up for this class.
Great experience! Highly recommend. We enjoyed everything about the cooking class. Both Sergio & Eli were super kind, with a great sense of humor and friendly disposition. We enjoy the meal, so fresh and delicious along with great company and beautiful atmosphere.
Wonderful cooking class for authentic Costa Rican food! Any level of cooking experience would be acceptable. Our guide Sergio was funny, knowledgeable, and friendly. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Manuel Antonio or Quepos
This was an OK experience, but I would not call it a cooking class. All we did as participants was chop vegetables and shape tortillas, but none of us actually cooked anything. They would tell us what component of the dish we were currently chopping for, but it wasn't a full list of ingredients as you could tell when it came time to eating that there was more to it. The food was very tasty though and the folks running it were very pleasant, but if you're looking for an experience where you make the whole meal, I'd keep looking.
This was such a highlight on my family's Christmas trip to Manuel Antonio! Gregory, our guide, was the best tour guide we had during our trip and we cooked the most AMAZING food, probably the best meal we had. The food was so fresh, the gardens were beautiful (we even got to try some mint and other herbs!), and the kitchen was beautiful. The cooking class was very hands on, but also is accessible for kids, families, and all cooking levels. Highly highly recommend this cooking class!
Without a doubt a very good experience; from the punctuality and good conversation of the Guide what happened for us; to the walk through the orchard and the best was to cook with Dona Clarita; passed by step a dish that, being sincere after 10 days in Costa Rica repeats you (hahahahaha), made you look at it from another perspective and analyze how it was done step by step. Fully recommended for those who like cooking and those who do not.
