Located in Intramuros, Manila, the Memorare – Manila 1945 is a solemn war memorial dedicated to the innocent civilians who perished during the Battle of Manila in World War II. Orlando took us on a wonderful historical tour and answered all of our questions with detail and further information which helped us understand Philippine colonial times. We were extremely pleased with our guide and the tour. Thank you Orlando!
Well worth it - good overview of the city - driver Arbie and Intramuros guide both excellent - enjoyed the horse carriage ride
Enjoyed a nice walking tour of Intramuros with our tour guide, Arsen. He was very knowledgeable and informative. Speaks English well, so easy to understand. I requested him after reading a number of reviews giving him high marks and he did not disappoint. I highly recommend requesting Arsen if you book this tour.
We had a very good tour of the Intramuros and Rizal Park with Henry. It was a fascinating introduction to the history and culture of the country and the difficult and often bloodied path to independence. Henry made the tour very interesting.
Arsan was so informative, energetic and was a delight to have as our tour guide. He is a very smart and kind young man. Thank you for setting us up with him.
Arsen gave us an excellent tour of the Intramuros area. He knew his material well and gave good answers for any questions we had. Would definitely recommend him to anyone wanting a tour of the area. The only issue we had was that the contracting company (not Arsen, but the company who books through Viator) needs to explain more clearly that the hotel pickup-guy is NOT the tour guide. When we were first picked up to be driven to Intramuros, our driver (who we thought was our tour guide) was super shy and barely said a word. Better communication of how the day works (from the company) would be a good idea.
I usually don't write reviews but my experience was too similar to others that customers should know. Tour time was listed as 4 hours, my time with the guide was less than 1.5 hours. The first thing the guide did was have me enter a room and watch a movie for 15 minutes. After a few minutes of walking around the fort he wanted to take a 5 minute break. For some reason we skipped the Baluarte (similar to other reviews). As with other reviews, better to do this on your own.
Driver did not show up. Good grief
Nice guide but certainly not worth the price for this tour. You are best do the Intramuros on your own as you only do a small part with that tour.
Arsen was so knowledgeable about Fort Santiago - we learned so much from him about the history of the area and Manila's history of occupation and independence. The tour of Intramuros was great - just enough to get a feel for it without being overwhelmed.
