Loved seeing the Mumma Mia! film sites - Kastani beach much nicer than expected (could have spent longer here); we opted for the trip up to the church which was so beautiful but definitely needed longer here - a lot of steep steps which some struggled with; Panormos beach overrated - hot stones unpleasant to relax on, didn’t need as long here; Milia beach ok (not convinced it’s where they filmed the ‘Does your mother know’ scene as guide claimed!). Staff lacked any kind of enthusiasm, interest/passion for the film and had very little information to share - even had to request they play ABBA songs upstairs! Overall, loved the scenes and sights but if you’re wanting a boat with more atmosphere I’d suggest booking with a different tour operator.
We pre-booked with GetYourGuide, the local 'Dolphins' coach picked us up at out hotel and whizzed us into Skiathos were we boarded the Barbarossa.. What an incredible day, all the staff on board were lovely and helpful. The places we stopped were magnificent particularly lunch at NikosTaverna on Panormos beach. We stopped at 3 beaches in total and either grabbed a drink at one of the excellent beach bars or bought one from the boat for the smaller beach. A really relaxing day and so glad we did it, my wife is the Mamma Mia fan but by the end of the day and on our incredible journey home I was foot tapping along with everyone. Highly recommended. Special mention to the young lad on the Dolphin coach,on our return journey he was approached by a lady in port who had missed her bus for the airport, although it was nothing to do with him really, he took the time to talk to her and mad a few calls to get her on her way again. An absolute gentleman in an age when a lot of folks these days just wouldn't have gone that extra mile!!!!
A fantastic trip, taking in some of the Mamma Mia filming locations, whilst listening to the Mamma Mia soundtrack! Beautiful beaches, turquoise waters and an opportunity to visit the hilltop church for an additional fee. The church visit is around 2 hrs in total - a 30 minute transfer each way in an air conditioned minibus and an hour to walk up to the church and back, which was plenty of time for us. There is a small taverna near to the church so you can grab a cold drink or snack while waiting for the transfer back to the beach. Be mindful that there are lots of steps up to the church, some of them quite steep. Also the boat lands right on the beaches and there is quite a steep ramp to get on and off the boat, but it does have handrails. We grabbed a snack from the shop behind the taverna on our return to the beach, as we weren't sure whether we would have time to eat at the taverna, (we had around an hour) but I'm sure they are used to the timings of the boat trips, so it may not have been an issue. I would definitely recommend this trip.
If you love all the songs from the film then this is must for you. We went to the chapel on skopelos where the wedding takes place. Be prepared for the steps they are very steep. The chapel is small not exactly pretty but glad I went up to it. The views are very pretty. From there we went to Skopelos town which is very pretty and lots on offer. After here we headed down the island to Mamma Mia beach the water is so blue but it is stony so take beach shoes. Great fun on board dancing and singing, drinks are not expensive on board. Fab day out.
Just did mamma Mia cruise on Poseidon. Fantastic day highly recommended. Girls went up to chapel & rang the bell guys chilled in cafe / bar. Skopelos was lovely. Even had a hour on a shingle beach. Sea was lovely & clear.
Fab a great service staff super organised! Super service very organised! Fabulous service the staff were super organised and it was easy to get involved a very chilled day.
Great day out, organised and well run. Even saw Dolphins on the way back. Boat seemed overcrowded when our coach arrived, most seemed to get on but there were some refusals. No concerns from us
A great fun day out. Crew were brilliant. Organisation of the pick ups and drop offs were excellent. The same boat that TUI use so all safety briefs adhered to. Top deck is loud music and dancing. Bottom deck shade and more chilled. Toilets and bar on board. If you love ABBA and mamma Mia do this trip you won’t be disappointed.
After a 26 hour flight delay I tried to contact the company to rearrange our booked trip for 30th Sept but theres no response, by telephone or message. I had to go through Trip Advisor, who were rubbish. After rearranging bad weather saw the trip cancelled and I requested a refund (£204) no response despite several messages and calling. I'm sure the trip would have been lovely but beware if things go wrong you could struggle to get resolution.
We’re very sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with your booking and the flight delay. While changes requested less than 24 hours in advance cannot always be guaranteed, we want to assure you that all trips canceled due to weather conditions are eligible for a full refund. We apologize for any frustration caused by the lack of response and will review our communication processes to prevent this in the future. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Have you ever seen a boat trip cruising past your hotel with blaring music and thinking quietly – that looks like a nightmare! Well I’m afraid the trip we went on yesterday was one of those. We chose the Skiathos Cruz company because it was the Mamma Mia one and we wanted to get to the top of the little church in Skopolos. We were aware there were a lot of other trips but this seemed to be the one cruise that took the boat directly to the Mama Mia church so this is why we chose it. The cruising itself was pleasant enough – but unsure why we were dropped off at a shingly Beach for a swim, we really have no idea. There’s no information given about any places we were heading to or any interesting facts. The staff did not willingly engage with information. My husband and I decided not to get off the boat to go for a swim at the shingle Beach and decided to stay on board and read for an hour . The music which had been playing continually and extremely loudly was still playing and despite the fact there was only possibly five of us on the boat my request to turn the music off while we read was refused and they agreed to turn it down – but only slightly. It wasn’t the cruise in itself that was a problem but the Music. It was impossible to have a conversation with each other or any of the other passengers unless you shouted. The company seemed to be completely unaware of the age group they were catering to for this trip especially at this time of year with a lot of silver surfers. Some gentle music – some lovely old Greek music - would have been lovely bearing in mind all of us boat are tourists, coming to experience Greece. We didn’t leave a tip at the end, which is something we always do. I did explain to the young man collecting the tips that the trip in itself had been lovely but the overloud music had ruined it and we would not be able to recommend it. He apologised very graciously, but somehow I don’t think things will change.
Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear that the cruise itself and the visit to the Mamma Mia church were enjoyable, but we’re very sorry that the loud music and lack of informative engagement negatively affected your experience. Your points about the music volume, minimal interaction from the staff, and the mismatch between the trip’s atmosphere and the likely age group of passengers are very important. We’ll make sure to pass your comments to the operator so they can reconsider the music policy and provide more context and guidance for future guests. We truly appreciate your honesty and regret that this impacted your enjoyment of what could have been a memorable day. MTM Customer Support
