Quinta da Regaleira is a quinta located near the historic centre of Sintra, Portugal. It is classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO within the "Cultural Landscape of Sintra.
The palace was designed by architects Thomas James Knowles (father and son) and built in 1858, by order of Sir Francis Cook, Viscount of Monserrate
Cabo da Roca or Cape Roca is a cape which forms the westernmost point of the Sintra Mountain Range, of mainland Portugal, of continental Europe, and of the Eurasian landmass. It is situated in the municipality of Sintra, near Azóia, in the south west of the Lisbon District.
Boca do Inferno is a rock formation to the west of Cascais where the waves crash with great force and intensity against the cliff, piercing the rocks and opening caves. On days with strong sea waves, the waves can be frightening and reach impressive heights.
Cascais is a coastal resort town in Portugal, just west of Lisbon. It’s known for its sandy beaches and busy marina. The old town is home to the medieval Nossa Senhora da Luz Fort and the Citadel Palace, a former royal retreat. Nearby is the whitewashed Nossa Senhora da Assunção church, with glazed azulejo tiles. Paula Rego House of Stories shows the Portuguese artist’s paintings in a modern building.

First off, Sintra is a must see if you were going to Lisbon. Our guide was Rajib who is from Bangladesh. He was extremely friendly and polite, but very hard to understand. He’s been doing this for about five years, but English is not his first language. He was very helpful in navigating our locations and was overly concerned with how good of time we were having. Almost too much. Overall, a great trip, but not a five due to the language barrier.
