The excellent guide, Egas, provided very good background and insights into the history and present of this community. I did two tours in Maputo with this company and recommend them. Both guides were knowledgeable and pleasant, with good English.
Phenomenal tour. Highly informative guides who are also kind & funny. Fascinating places. Wonderful conversation. This fed my brain & expanded my understanding of Mozambique’s history massively!
Egas the tour guide was super knowledgeable and personable. If you’re looking to visit a part of the city outside of the usual tourist spots and more off the beaten path then I would highly recommend this tour. It’s a great way to get a glimpse of local life, culture and a look at how history has shaped the city.
Excellent tour: insightful, thought-provoking, eye-opening. Essential to understand the spirit of Mafalala which is key to understanding Mozambique! Highly recommended
Be led through the narrow alleys and see how people live their lives in this neighborhood. It's all there: tiny shops, tiny garages, small hairdressers, schools and mural art in various places. The guide knows many people personally and has learned from them about the history of the place. People know he brings visitors and regard them with a friendly eye. It is worthwile to take this tour and you will see yet another side of living in Mozambique.
