A fascinating visit with an excellent guide

The excellent guide, Egas, provided very good background and insights into the history and present of this community. I did two tours in Maputo with this company and recommend them. Both guides were knowledgeable and pleasant, with good English.

A chance to see real local culture

Egas the tour guide was super knowledgeable and personable. If you’re looking to visit a part of the city outside of the usual tourist spots and more off the beaten path then I would highly recommend this tour. It’s a great way to get a glimpse of local life, culture and a look at how history has shaped the city.

Walk through the narrow alleys and hear about the national legends born and raised here

Be led through the narrow alleys and see how people live their lives in this neighborhood. It's all there: tiny shops, tiny garages, small hairdressers, schools and mural art in various places. The guide knows many people personally and has learned from them about the history of the place. People know he brings visitors and regard them with a friendly eye. It is worthwile to take this tour and you will see yet another side of living in Mozambique.
