Unlike traditional markets, the Maeklong Railway Market is set up directly on the train tracks. Vendors display their goods such as fresh seafood, fruits, vegetables, and other local products right on the ground where the train passes through. As the train approaches, vendors quickly retract their awnings and move their goods to make way for the train. It's a thrilling and unusual sight to see a bustling market transform into a clear path for a passing train within seconds. Meet the group and drive 1.5 hour from Bangkok to Maeklong Railway Market is a traditional Thai market selling fresh vegetables, food and fruit in the province of Samut Songkhram, southwest of Bangkok. What makes the market special is that it occupies part of a train line. A few times a day, a train runs directly through the market. A few minutes before the train comes, vendors lower their umbrellas and move some of their produce away from the train tracks.

Very good experience! I recommend the earlier excursion time to avoid the heat and the crowding of tourists. Additionally, the train is less crowded, allowing for a more enjoyable experience and better seating to have better views when entering the market. Our guide Tanya was wonderful; she was charming and told us many interesting things. Everything was super organized.
