Description
On this tour you will walk, together with a local guide, through the neighborhood of "La Latina" to discover its history through some of the most authentic taverns still left in Madrid. Our goal is that you have the possibility to play local while tasting local cuisine. For that, we invite you to walk along the streets of this emblematic neighborhood. So you can get to know our culture, its customs and its sayings and experience the true magic of living in this great city. Come wanting to eat, we assure you that you will be satisfied with this meeting!

Itinerary
At the beginning of the tour we will talk a little about the history of Madrid, what the Madrid of the Austrias is and how history influenced local food. Our goal is for them to get to know an authentic Madrid, a local Madrid.
The "La Latina" neighborhood, a traditional neighborhood, today hosts a lot of tourism but if you know how to search you can find the best places. Traditional taverns where you can try the most typical tapas of this city. We will make stops in different places to taste the local cuisine.
The "Mercado de San Miguel" is the most famous market found today in Madrid. Its visit is a must-see if it is your first time in this city. And if you already know it, it never hurts to visit it again.
On our tour we will make a stop at Plaza Mayor. The most emblematic Plaza found in Madrid. Here we will talk a little about the importance of this square for the city and its history.
Our last restaurant is located on Embroiderers Street very close to Plaza Mayor. There we will taste the latest tapas that we selected for this tour and upon departure we will end the tour.

Our guide Maya did an amazing job. The first stop on the trip The family restaurant Casa Paco was not a good experience, the staff did not greet and it seemed almost as if they had forgotten we came, we were served red wine in wet glasses that were not washed off properly. The other 3 stops on the trip were ok

This was a super fun food tour. Our guide, Maya, was very knowledgeable about the food we tasted and how it is prepared. She knew about the history of the area and the buildings. There were 3 different food and wine stops and each was very different, but very good. We enjoyed the walk through some neighborhoods we had not been before. The tapas all were so good, as well as the wines. We were able to taste the Spanish vermut, which was very different for us. A super nice evening with good food and a very good guide.

This was hands down one of the best experiences I had in Madrid. The food was absolutely incredible, and Maia’s passion for Spanish cuisine made it even more enjoyable.
