The Blue Cave on Koločep Island (near Dubrovnik, Croatia) is a small but stunning sea cave known for its glowing blue water caused by sunlight reflecting off the sandy seabed through an underwater entrance. The main activity! The water glows an ethereal blue, especially around midday when the sun is high. Swim or snorkel inside the cave to explore. Just outside the cave, there are safe spots for low to moderate-height cliff jumping—popular with adventure seekers.
Sail into a world of hidden wonders as you explore Koločep, the southernmost Elaphiti island, by boat. Just a short cruise from Dubrovnik, Koločep's rugged coastline reveals crystal-clear coves, dramatic cliffs, and mystical sea caves, including the island’s famous Blue Cave—a glowing sapphire grotto only reachable by sea. As your boat glides past pine-covered shores and quiet bays, stop to swim in secluded lagoons, snorkel over vibrant reefs, or simply float in peace with the sun on your face. With no cars on the island and limited crowds, the sense of escape is real—pure Croatian island magic, best experienced from the water.
One of the biggest and most popular sandy beaches in the Dubrovnik area is Sunj Beach on the island of Lopud, a short boat ride from Dubrovnik port. This sandy beach with shallow waters is ideal for families with small children, young people, or even sports fans. On the beach, there is a bar serving snacks and drinks and you can spend the whole day on the beach.
Lopud is one of the Croatian Islands belonging to the Elafiti archipelago, a group of islands just off the coast of Dubrovnik often called Dubrovnik’s islands. Located just over 7 nautical miles from Dubrovnik (about 14 kilometers), the island has just a couple hundred permanent inhabitants. A very beautiful historic place with a botanic garden. Here our guests can take a lunch break in one of the restaurants.
Šipan is the largest island in the Elaphite group and plays an important role in nautical routes. Here we will visit the place called Suđurađ.
Sjekirica Beach is distinguished by its clean waters and well-preserved environment, making it a favored spot for swimming and snorkeling among locals and tourists alike. The combination of pebbled shore and rocky seabed ensures a rich marine life, perfect for underwater exploration. The clear blue sea with shallow and rich sea vegetation makes it a perfect place to swim and snorkel.

Our family of 6 including two teens, two parents and two grandparents has a lovely day on the water aboard the leader 10. Our two guides knew just the places to take us to see the beautiful caves and water and the islands as well as a fabulous lunch spot with fresh seafood and a beautiful setting. We would do this again in a minute!

One of the best excursions we have ever done and by far the best of our vacation in Dubrovnik. Ivan, our skipper, is a local who knows the islands inside and out, from caves and quiet coves, cliff jumping, to a wonderful lunch overlooking the Adriatic Sea, everything was perfect! To top it off, I lost my wedding ring while snorkeling and Ivan spent more than 20 minutes looking for it, after we had all given up hope of finding it. From the bottom of the sea, at least 10 meters down, he spotted the ring and swam down to retrieve it. Nothing short of a miracle that he found my ring! It was an amazing day trip, beautiful scenery and sea-life, and the icing on the cake was that Ivan was a truly engaged skipper, tour guide, and jewelry finder, making the day fun and extremely memorable!!!

We had a great day with Ivan as our skipper. He was so nice and showed us all the lovely places around the islands and even some hidden gems. We loved swimming into the caves and relaxing on the water. Highly recommend for a great private day!

I highly recommend this private boat excursion—it’s well worth the cost. There were six of us on board the Merry Fisher, along with our kind and accommodating Captain Ivan. We had been very happy to find a boat departing from Cavtat (we had only seen Dubrovnik departures in the past). Our first stop was the island of Koločep where we all jumped from the boat right into the sea, swimming and exploring for over an hour. Then on to an incredible harbor-side grilled fish lunch, which Captain Ivan reserved for us upon our departure. After lunch we swam in the blue caves area (open sea), and by this time, my nine and thirteen-year-old granddaughters had become completely confident swimming in this buoyant deep blue sea—knowing they could climb the ladder back up to the boat at any time. The experience for them was both joyful and an incredible boost to their self-confidence. This was the best gift of all. The boat was lovely, clean, and well-stocked with snorkeling equipment, drinks, snacks and towels. There was plenty of shade on the boat for us older folks, but we all swam. We had a wonderful family bonding day, and will do it again in the future. The best gift ever for your grandchildren!!
