This was a great experience! We had mixed reviews with some saying it was too touristy, we didn’t think so at all. You get a headset at the ticket office with your chosen language (don’t forget to take a form of photo ID as you will need to give this to them to get your headset, which is then returned at the end). The lights really brought out the magic of Karnak temple, there were some sound effects too, but these added to the experience and only came on occasionally. You spend time in each part of the complex before moving on to the next stage, finishing off with a sit down spoken history broadcast and light show overlooking the beautiful lake. It was very well run and professional, and a fantastic photo opportunity. You walk at a relaxed pace, so I think it’s fine for most levels of fitness. You go in with quite a big crowd of people, but due to its size, we didn’t really feel crowded at all. I recommend this experience for your trip to Luxor, you will get some great photos. As an aside, you should also try visiting the Luxor temple at sunset too, on a different evening, another great experience.
