Itinerary
At our first stop, discover the famous waterfall Schiessentümpel, one of the most visited and photographed site in the Müllerthal Region also known as Luxembourg's Little Switzerland.
In the course of the tour, a quick stop is foreseen at Beaufort in order for you to take some nice pictures to remember. During the Spring and Summer, you'll have the opportunity to visit the Castle, a Neo gothic architecture and its impressive ruins.
The small medieval town of Vianden attracts thousands of visitors every year. Particularly worth seeing are the imposing castle that overlooks the town, the town wall with its fortified towers and Luxembourg's only chairlift. During this stop, you'll have free time to visit the sights. We recommend that you bring a snack or a sandwich if you don't want to waste time in a restaurant. Otherwise, the time of the visit might be too short
Our last stop before returning to Luxembourg City is the old town Echternach. This ancient town was founded in 698 by the Benedictine monk Willibrord. Here, you can visit the most beautiful places and buildings of Echternach, like the Basilica, the abbey and the market square.

This was a beautiful / scenic / relaxing day in an air conditioned minibus with 4 stops (including 2 castle stops) The driver was very pleasant & the surrounding areas we drove through were stunning! Great value for money & well worth exploring!
Good full day trip, only have a guide for last hour of the tour, which we stayed 15 mins for as wanted to explore the area and less interested in the history of the abbey personally. Driver made us feel welcome and safe even though his English was limited. Could have done with half an hour longer in Vianden to visit Victor Hugo’s house. Otherwise trip was great and would recommend to squeeze 4 places in a day!
I took this on June 28 by myself and was grateful for the air-conditioned bus with seatbelts because it was almost 100° during the heat wave in Europe the driver didn’t really speak English however he was able to communicate what we were supposed to do at each stop. You did get entrance to two castles. Everything was self guided except for the ECHTRNACH City, there was a Guide there. We did get a free cold water on the bus and you can listen to headset with information on it explaining where we were going. So it was a female traveling by myself on this trip. I was grateful to have the bus going to all places and let me see most of all of Luxembourg in a safe and nice way I recommend.
Great stops and beautiful drive. Driver was nice and safe. Would recommend this to anyone visiting Luxembourg.
It was a good tour. The nature part could have been longer. Castles were great. Echternach was the only weak stop. I wanted to see and learn about the town. The tour and talk was almost all in the church and about Whillobrot.
Ali was our driver / very friendly and a safe driver. Had basic understanding of English and was very efficient and kept the tour on time.Gabby did a great job of explaining the trails (water, moss, plants, birds). (This trail is not for the elderly or unsteady people, its rough, many ups and downs and no handrails) Then we stopped at Beaufort castle ruins for a quick self guided look. Then to Vianden castle for a couple hour self guided tour. They had QR codes for each room But had issues with internet .. but very interesting stop. Last visit was Basically of saint Willibrod and Nicole had a very good presentation. Ali had us back to Luxembourg city on time. Overall a day well spent - highly recommend. Dave & Sandra
Wonderful trip thru the countryside of Luxembourg. We saw castles, a nature walk and cute town with cathedral. Very pleasant experience. I would recomend.
Great day with a small group of eight travelling around Luxemburg. The walk to the waterfalls was fun with guide Patrick who had a lot of stories to tell. Vianden castle was as beautiful as expected and the final stop in Echternach was interesting with more emphasis on religion with guide Nicole. Thank you!
I highly recommend this excursion if you’re in Luxembourg for a short stay and want to get out of the city center to see the countryside. The hike and castles were just enough for a day trip and to give you a sense of the country’s history. The price to value is well worth it!
Lovely tour. Our driver did not speak English, even though we signed up for an English tour. However we were able to communicate enough to get by. The hike and the two castle stops were enjoyable. The hike was delightful even though the waterfall was underwhelming. The last stop, was interesting. The tour guide was soft spoken and one person in our group was unable to hear her speak. Overall we enjoyed the day.
