Don't eat before you go, as you might not be able to manage the fabulous food! It's a fabulous introduction to real Italian pasta cooking. Very high quality ingredients, and a wonderful very experienced teacher. Such a welcoming family. Antonella and Piero are just delightful.
From the moment you arrive there's a feeling your in for something special. Upon entering the home of Antonietta you're made to feel like family. The session starts with a sit-down at the family table with a glass of locally produced white wine and a conversation about what to expect from the class and how things are going to progress. Under Antonietta's watchful eye we made fresh pasta, a simple yet delicious sauce and toppings for bruschetta. Once the pasta rolling and prep work is complete, you are sat down at a family sized dining room table and treated to wonderful antipasti and accompaniments that are made by Antonietta, her Italian cowboy husband Piero or local artisans. All this while the pasta and sauce that you created are being cooked in the family kitchen, Once the sauce is ready, the pasta is put into boiling water to finish the cooking process, within a couple of minutes of being put into the water, the pasta is drained and mixed with the sauce to complete the marriage of this traditional Tuscan dish. The dinner is served family style with ample white and red locally sourced wines and freshly baked breads. All while being entertained with stories of local legend told by Antonietta and Piero (mostly thru a translator, but, none of the magic is lost). We left the experience with full stomachs and a desire to return to visit and share a meal with our new Tuscan family.
Felt like family. Very welcoming and learned ..finally how to make macaroni. Learned just how much healthier it is to really eat from farm to table. Then we ate...and so delicious. Thank you for an educational day and a delightful day! Highly recommend.
We already adore Lucca and Italy for its food, but this very special day with Antionetta, Piero and Debra was above excellent, so glad we got to experience their warmth and hospitality, pasta making lessons and the gorgeous multiple course delicious meal that we helped create. We felt like friends and family. What a lovely time!
We cooked delicious and then ate together as a large Italian family in the beautiful authentic surroundings.
What fun we had! We learned so much from Antonietta-techniques I will keep with me forever. The food was fresh and her instructions were so clear. The best part was getting to be in genuine Italian kitchen learning from someone so kind and patient. We had our 4 yr old grandson with us and Antonietta lovingly taught him how to make pasta! He’s still talking about it! It felt like family by the time we’re done. It was 5 stars-highly recommend!!
This is the best class I've ever taken and the family is fantastic and friendly. They always have an interpreter to help with the language. I've gone several times and learn something every time I attend a class. After cooking, you sit at their amazing table with tons of food and wine that you didn't cook but they did previously. You will not go away hungry!! Highly recommend.
We spent a perfect day with Piero and Antoniette and translator Benetta. Fresh herbs from the garden to make bruschetta. The finest flour and fresh eggs for making pasta. We cooked, laughed and at the end of our class we sat around the table and enjoyed the food we made. It was truly an Italian experience we will treasure forever.
A must do!! Everything was wonderful. The cooking class gave a lot of great instruction and tips. The hostess, host and translator were amazing! An overall great experience!!
Really fun experience in cozy setting. Dinner at the end of class was amazing! The instructor was warm, inviting and fun. Loved the outdoor patio.
