I booked the “Los Angeles Tour for Adults Only: The Fame Kills” tour for my final night in Los Angeles. The company accepted my booking, took the reservation, and then cancelled the tour roughly an hour and a half before it was supposed to begin. I only heard the voicemail minutes before I was about to leave for the meeting point. In Los Angeles, where getting across town can easily take an hour, leaving a voicemail so close to the start time is not enough. If a company cancels a confirmed booking at the last minute, it should make sure the customer actually received the message and has a realistic chance to adjust their plans. The reason I was given was “safety,” because I would have been the only guest and I am a man, even though this was an outdoor public tour. If the company cannot run a tour with only one guest, or with one male guest and a female guide, that should be built into the booking process. They could have set a minimum number of guests, blocked solo bookings, arranged another guide, or notified me much earlier. Even if a last-minute cancellation is technically allowed under the company’s policy, that does not make this acceptable customer service. A cancellation policy should not replace basic responsibility toward customers. The way the company handled it afterward made the situation worse. The representative I spoke with, Tiffany, was rude, dismissive, and did not seem apologetic. She did not seem concerned about whether I had received the cancellation in time, told me I would need to request the refund myself, and ultimately hung up on me. They offered a rain check or tours in other cities, even though I had already explained that this was my last night in Los Angeles. They do not operate in New York, where I live, so that was not a meaningful solution. A refund was issued, but a refund simply returns the money for a service that was never provided. It does not address the wasted time, the last-minute disruption, the poor communication, or the fact that my final evening in Los Angeles was ruined. Based on this experience, I would not recommend booking with this operator unless you are willing to risk a last-minute cancellation and poor handling afterward.
We’re very sorry for the frustration and disruption this caused during your final night in Los Angeles. We understand that a refund does not make up for lost time or the disappointment of having plans changed so close to the tour start time. While guest and guide safety is always a priority for us, we agree that communication around a cancellation needs to be handled as clearly and as early as possible, especially in a city like Los Angeles where travel time can be significant. We have reviewed how this situation was handled so we can improve our notification process and ensure guests have a better opportunity to adjust their plans when a tour cannot operate. We’re also sorry to hear that your conversation with our team did not feel helpful or apologetic. That is not the standard of service we want guests to experience. We appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback, and we will use it to address both our internal communication process and the guest support experience moving forward.
Had a great time, Hail is awesome! He keeps everyone engaged and his storytelling is very well done. Shared a lot of great and interesting stories. Highly recommend doing this tour if you enjoy walking and learning about ghost stories.
Loved the tour! Learned some history about old Hollywood and enjoyed scary ghost stories while observing a busy night at downtown LA
Hail was absolutely amazing! Clear and concise knows his stuff. Friendly and great story teller. Definitely worth it go!
We are thrilled to hear that you all had a wonderful time touring with Hail. Thank you so much! We hope to see you all again soon.
Cody was a great and charismatic guide. He clearly possesses a passion for old Hollywood and its architecture and really made the tour come alive. I really enjoyed the tour itself, the stories along the way, and was impressed by his ability to also include extra tidbits such as the last place, Black Dahlia was last seen and his extensive knowledge of where everyone's star is located.
We are very happy to hear you had such a good time with Cody! We love when our guides can put thier all into the tours and have guests feeling like this in the end! Thanks for the great review and we hope to see you again soon!
So, I came to the City of Angels on Sunday and the first thing I did was go on the Ghost Tour on Hollywood Blvd! This tour is top tier as was my tour guide Hail! Hail was great in telling the stories with great detail and emotion. He also had pictures to show us about the ghost he was telling the group about! I enjoyed it so much that I went to the second tour the following day again with Hail! The second tour is was just as great as the first one! So if you are ever looking for some spook here in the City of Angels come on these tours, and make sure you ask for the tour guide named Hail!! You won’t regret it!

It was fun and learned a few new facts. It would have been nice to learn more history behind the stories. Overall it was very walkable and had the opportunity to take a few great photos

Our tour guide, Cassie was great! We were a little late, and she called to check in on us, and waited for us to get there (we were only 5-10 minutes late, but it was nice of her to do so). She was very informative and encouraged our interaction. It was a wonderful time.
We're so thrilled to hear you had such a wonderful time with Cassie! We hope to see you on another tour soon!
