Your driver guide will pick you up at 9:00 am or at a time of your choice from the lobby of your hotel, Guilin Railway Station, Guilin Airport, Guilin city center, or any other designated location.
It takes about 2.5 hours to drive to Dazhai Jinkeng Rice Terraces from Guilin city. Located in Longsheng County, Dazhai Jinkeng is part of the Longji Rice Terrace Field and is renowned for having the largest rice fields in the area. It is also home to the Zhuang and Yao ethnic minority communities. Dazhai Jinkeng is the only section of the Longji Rice Terrace scenic area where you can take a ropeway. The round trip takes about 50 minutes and offers a panoramic view of the terraced fields. From the glass-enclosed ropeway, you can see the terraced fields stretching from the base to the summit of the mountain, creating a truly spectacular sight. At Golden Buddha Peak, you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire Jinkeng Scenic Area. Visitors can also explore the area on foot and take photos from the mountaintop, capturing the stunning beauty of the rice terraces.
Afterward, we will have lunch in Huangyao Village, where you can savor local delicacies such as bamboo rice, bamboo chicken, smoked pork, and more. Following lunch, we can visit Huangluo Yao Village, an ancient Chinese village famous for its unique tradition of long hair. Nestled at the foot of the mountain, the village is traversed by the Jinsha River. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to explore old wooden houses and experience the rustic charm of traditional village life.
After a wonderful day tour of the Longji Rice Terraces, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Guilin. The journey takes about 2 hours, during which you can take a nap and relax. You will arrive at your Guilin hotel around 6:00 pm.

We had an amazing day with our tour guide Leo. The drive to the Longji Rice Terraces was very scenic and relaxing. The cable car ride up was interesting and showed the vastness of the terraces. As it was low season, there were very few people at the top of the mountain which was great. We had unfettered views of the terraces and it was very peaceful. After a ride back down the cable car, we stopped for lunch at a tea house. Here we experienced a tea tasting process/ceremony which was interesting. The owner of the tea house had tea with us and he was quite the character. He gifted us with tea which was very generous of him. The lunch was fresh and delicious. After lunch we had a short stroll through a village and then Leo drove us back to the hotel. Leo’s knowledge of the area and China was great. He’s a super nice guy and easy to talk to. I would highly recommend this tour to any foreigners who want an authentic and well guided tour.

The info on what is included and excluded is very confusing. It does not give clear consistent info. Example: You could not clearly figure out if lunch was included. We still do not know if we were suppose to pay ourselves or whether it was included. We did pay without argument to not cause any embarrassment on any side. At the village with the long hair ladies, a lot of time was spent to show souvenirs and stuff sold by local ladies. We were shown a lot of embroidered cloths that were clearly machine made - you can buy it at open air markets from Hong Kong to Beijing - but were told it was all handmade by one lady. The trip at the rice terraces were then rushed because too much time was spend in the village.

Really interesting experience! Wonderful landscapes and a truly unique and relaxing atmosphere. Our tour operator, Leo, very professional and considerate, organized the trip avoiding queues and inconvenience. The driver who was with us the whole day was punctual and very discreet... and very kind .. our daughter forgot the camera in the back seat of her car and he brought it back to her as soon as he noticed! Day tour started with a 2-hour journey to reach the long hair tribe and then continue to Longji rice terraces. In the village we paid apart the ticket to see the spectacle of the long-haired women... not unforgettable, but being unique in the world we preferred to watch it. At the rice terraces we decided to take the walk rather than the cable car ride and we were happy with the choice. Unfortunately you can't do both. Very prepared and nice English speaking guide. The only negative note the lunch: it was the most “touristy” situation experienced in our trip to China: restaurant of friends, high prices, a bit of manipulation in the choice of food.
