Description
Lompoul is a desert with orange dunes .As accommodation you will have a sublime and comfortable Mauritanian with its nomadic style.There you will enjoy a very exhilarating local experience consisting in having a camel ride to enjoy a fabulous West African sunset . At night in a desert atmosphere ,an African Ballet will perform for you. Before we reach the desert ,we will see the Pink Lake ,former arrival for the Dakar Rally .There ,you will see the lake ‘s pink colour but also how the salt seekers harvest the with the body cover with shea butter. Then to close the Pink Lake stage ,you will have the swim and float ,in this lake ,which is 10 times saltier than the ocean .Lunch at Chez Salim hotel.The next day ,we explore Lompoul fishing harbour ,to see the fishing boat and the atmosphere and back to our starting point .

For anyone visiting Senegal, do not miss this tour. I had the pleasure of traveling with Sogui Wade who made sure that not stone was left unturned. We visited a multitude of beautiful spots on the way to Lompoul Desert, and once there, got to experience wonderful cuisine, a camel ride, and desert views for days. Sogui made sure I felt like the only person there, even if there were other tourists. A definite must when in Senegal, I recommend this trip 100%, and if you can go with Sogui, even better!

We spent two very enjoyable days birdwatching with Sogui and his steady driver Robert. Communication prior to the trip was excellent. Sogui was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and courteous. We have no hesitation in recommending him.
