Llandaff's Ghosts: A Self-Guided Audio Tour

Description
Crafted by a specialist in Welsh folklore and paranormal history, this immersive audio tour unearths the chilling secrets that standard city guides ignore. This digital experience invites you to step away from the crowded bus routes and loud trolleys of central Cardiff to explore the ancient, narrow pathways of Llandaff that wheels simply cannot reach. The narrative weaves through the hallowed shadows of Llandaff Cathedral, along the mist-shrouded banks of the River Taff, and into the haunting silence of an abandoned graveyard where the veil between worlds feels thin. Using smart GPS technology, the cinematic soundscape and authentic local testimonies trigger automatically as you walk, working entirely offline so you can lose yourself in the story without worrying about data. By the time you navigate the twisting wooded lanes of Llandaff Meadow and return to the cathedral’s spire, you will feel like a true insider of Cardiff’s darkest history.

The tour was really easy to follow with great guidelines from the narrator, as well as a digital map. There was a variation of ghost stories with accompanying history. I also really liked the ambiance and sounds added behind the narration. Great tour!
We thoroughly enjoyed this self guided tour! The area is beautiful and the stories arw fascinating!!
Great story telling of the history of the cathedral. Spooky feel to the commentary and this is especially true if you take the tour when it is dark. I kept finding myself looking behind me just to see if anyone was there!
Brilliant way to see a part of Cardiff off the beaten track. Spooky and scenic, definitely something worth doing on a visit.
This was such good fun , beautiful cathedral at starting point then lots of spooky historical and factual information as you walk through tree laden lanes , fields next to the Beautiful river and an old cemetery, with a very creepy story. You can wander around the headstones We will go again when it’s dark as the guy telling the stories is brilliant on the headphones and to be there at night will be amazing . Would recommend this . Great value for money . Thanks Llandaff 🩷❤️
My experience is not that scary as I did the tour in the morning. Probably it is scary during the night, especially the background audio. I recommend to do the tour at night.
If we had the chance to do it in the evening, we would have. It was a nice walk with an exciting story! In the end was totally spooky! Loved it! Thank you!
I tried two days running to go on this walk. Having been on it previously with my other granddaughter thought I would take my other. I couldn't get the app to work both times which meant a very upset little girl (and me). There is very weak Internet at the starting point ALL the time and in the village, which I thought Viator would have thought of! I even asked for help from other people and they couldn't get it to work either. Tried phoning the help line but couldn't get through to that either. Waste of time and money.
Hi Margaret, I'm sorry that you were unhappy with your experience. When you were having technical difficulties, are you sure you contacted VoiceMap support via telephone? Our number is on the instructions that were sent together with your booking confirmation. We unfortunately have no record of your call. We are contactable by both telephone and email, so if you have technical difficulties, please reach out to us so we can identify what is going wrong. We've processed your refund request and hope you'll reconsider doing a VoiceMap tour again in future. For the best possible experience, we recommend that you download the tour before leaving Wi-Fi or mobile coverage to make sure the tour downloads properly. You don't need any internet access while doing the tour, since it uses your phone's GPS to help guide you. Best, Helene
My 11 year old granddaughter and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The scare factor was just right, and I had no idea that I had been walking the dogs down 'death lane' all these years. Puts a different view on it now! It did take a while to download at the start because the Internet signal is quite weak by the cathedral. Recommend downloading before you get there. Lovely look around the cathedral before we started as well. Audio description was excellant. Thank you
This was absolutely fascinating! Done on a summer's afternoon, my goodness in the dark this must be scary as anything!
