Fantastic people who love the real brutal history. The guide maria had a wealth of knowledge and was very theatrical and passionate about teaching. I loved it.
We learned a lot and the guide delivered perfectly as expected. :) a smaller tour with a different topic exactly what we wanted.
I liked getting to know more obscure facts about the history of Lisbon. I expected a more immersive and scary experience. The experience was more in a historical perspective, but it was very interesting.
This tour was a very interesting dive into some of the darker history of Lisbon (and Portugal) - quite a contrast to the modern, bustling city today. Our guide, Victoria, is a fantastic storyteller, full of anecdotes told in animated ways that make this tour so interesting and fun! A must for anyone looking to delve deeper into the history of this vibrant and beautiful city!
Victoria was very knowledgeable and engaging on this tour. I would recommend this walking tour to anyone visiting Lisbon who is interested in history, including the dark side of history.
We really loved the tour. It was a good bit of walking but nothing too hard or crazy. We loved the smaller group size and our guide really made the tour more personable. We really enjoyed it and learned a lot.
I took the “Lisbon: The Dark Unholy Secrets” walking tour today and it was one of the highlights of my time in Lisbon so far — and Clara is the reason why. Her knowledge of the Portuguese Inquisition and Lisbon’s darker history is impressive, and she has a simple gift for storytelling. She brought these centuries-old events to life in a way that was genuinely gripping. I felt like I understood a whole side of this city that most people never glimpse. What really set Clara apart, though, was her kindness and patience. I arrived late and had real difficulty locating the group — it took nearly half an hour until I finally found them. Clara stayed in communication with me the entire time, calm and gracious, she never made me feel like a burden. She simply kept working with me until I was where I needed to be. That kind of care for a guest is rare, and I deeply appreciated it. If you have any interest in history, mystery, or the hidden soul of Lisbon, book this tour — and hope you get Clara as your guide.
The guide Andreia is worth the price of admission by herself. She is a great storyteller, very charismatic and she came across as a genuinely nice human being. Thanks for all the patience with Morgana!
Fun and different. Interesting macabe view of Lisboa.
Wow! I didn’t fully realize what the subject matter was and totally loved the tour. The quality of the tour was all due to Beatriz. She had this wonderful energy, so vibrant and intelligent. We were just us two and her and yet the energy and spark was fantastic and invigorating. She went with the flow and in one amazing moment, a group of partiers was passing us by with loud music and she was able to weave that into her storytelling at that time. I was so impressed. I’m not good at history but she made it come alive in modern language which made it so relatable. I loved her energy so much. It makes a big difference when the tour guide is passionate about the subject matter. We wish her well—what an amazing person.
