No monument in the world announces a city quite like this one. Your driver will bring you to the best viewpoint — the Trocadéro esplanade — where the Tower rises across the Seine in full, exactly as you have seen it in photographs. From here you can walk down to the Champ de Mars, get closer to the base, or simply take your time with the view. If you want to go up, allow two hours and book your tickets in advance — the summit offers one of the finest panoramas in Europe.
The world's most visited museum occupies a former royal palace on the right bank of the Seine. Even if you don't go inside, the glass pyramid in the Cour Napoléon is one of the great architectural statements of the 20th century and a natural centrepiece for photographs. If you want to visit the collection — the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, Winged Victory — allow at least two hours and book tickets in advance. Your driver will adjust the day accordingly.
After five years of restoration following the 2019 fire, Notre-Dame has reopened — and it is more extraordinary than ever. The medieval façade, the flying buttresses, the gargoyles watching over the Seine: the exterior alone is worth the visit. We booked the full day driver without tour guide. Our driver, Alexandre, was excellent. Driving in Paris is no joke, and he was safe, efficient, and very kind to us, and made our experience his most important priority for the day. We used google translate (plus the tiny bit of French I know) to communicate and that was more than sufficient to get our day plan confirmed initially and to also modify it mid-trip as we decided to add a couple of quick stops for photos and souvenirs we wanted. We also spent 2 hours at the Louvre, which only scratched the surface, but was amazing. Driver picked us up on time at our ship, let us out at easy to remember meeting points at each stop, communicated through WhatsApp in case our needs changed while we were out (which they did once) and at the end of the day he dropped us back at our ship with enough time buffer (45 minutes) that we didn’t need to stress at all. Paris in a day was busy, tiring, but also easy, amazing and perfect because of this tour! Merci!
