Itinerary
We depart Launceston today travelling through the well-preserved Georgian townships of Evandale and Campbell Town.
We make a short stop in Campbell Town where you can collect some lunch to take along for the day ahead. You will have time to discover the Convict Brick Trail that extends through the town, visit the Red Bridge, and check out the tree sculptures depicting the history of the town.
The amazing views of the Hazards mountains greet us as we enter the Freycinet National Park.
We begin by stretching our legs on the Cape Tourville Lighthouse circuit. A short and easy walk with spectacular 360 degree views of the surrounding coastline.
Then we pack our lunch and begin our walk to the Wineglass Bay Lookout. This is an uphill walk and takes around 45 minutes to reach the Lookout, where we are well rewarded with the iconic view of Wineglass Bay. Here your guide will help you take those sought after photographs relax in this magic setting and enjoy your lunch break. The round trip walk takes around 1.5 hours. For the fit and keen, from the Lookout you can extend your walk down to Wineglass Bay Beach (2.5 hr return walk). You have time on this famous beach to take a swim, relax, eat your lunch or explore along the white sands.
If you return directly from the Lookout with our Tour Guide, we will have time visit Honeymoon Bay in the afternoon.
We re-group ready for the return journey. Our final stop on the East Coast is the stunning Devil’s Corner Winery, where you will have time to take in the magnificent view. On site you can enjoy a wine tasting, wood fired pizza, fresh seafood and Oysters from Freycinet Marine Farm and ice creams all available at own expense on the day.

The one way nature of the tour was very handy as we didn’t want to travel by air. It was a very active day so be prepared. You will be rewarded with amazing view. Our guide was lovely and knowledgeable.
That was a wonderful trip. It is worth for money. Tour guide was extremely good and he was very flexible with timing and the plan. I highly recommend this to anybody.
The trip was well paced and interesting. The climb to see Wineglass Bay is challenging for those not fit but it’s still manageable. The view is lovely.
Thank you Carole for joining our Launceston to Hobart via Wineglass Bay Active Tour. We are glad to hear the day felt well paced and interesting. The climb to the Wineglass Bay lookout can be a good challenge but the views are always worth the effort. Thank you for sharing your experience. Warm regards from The Tours Tasmania Team.
We had a wonderful tour. Graeme picked us up on time at the destination we choose from the list in Launceston. We picked up 3 more groups 7 people in all. We followed the plan set out. Graeme was wonderful at clearly sharing the plan of the day. He also was very informative and shared about each area we were in. Graeme actually went on the hikes with us and pointed out key information and answered our questions. We appreciated that he adjusted the main hike for the more advanced hiker, the family, and the older couple. He met all our individual needs and was gracious about all the adjustments. About 3:00pm we switched vehicles depending on who was returning to Their original location or moving on to the other side of Tasmania. At this point we headed to Hobart with our new tour operator/driver Clinton. He was a skilled storyteller and shared much information about Tasmania. We made one stop at a beach. He graciously retold stories and info for us new to the van. We still got our full tour and more. He also slowed a bit for photos. Clinton G. dropped each of us off at our hotels… all on time. We had a great day and learned so much. Great tour. Great tour guides.
Its really beautiful but get ready for going up and down for a hour.. for those got knee problem maybe take more hour 😅 but its amazing view
大変楽しめました。少しシーズンオフに行ったせいか、ツアーに参加したのはスペインからの女性と2人だけでしたが、まるでプライベートツアーのようでした。添乗してくださった方もとても気がまわる方で助かりました。
We visited some wonderful places. Tip: if you're fit enough to walk, go down the 1000 steps and back up again to Wineglass Bay. You don't have much time there though (I think it was about 20 minutes). If you prefer something a little more relaxed (there's a lot of walking beforehand) then let the tour leader drive you to Honeymoon Bay! It's beautiful. He also offers this for everyone. The group splits up later and the people who are going on to Hobart are assigned to another bus. Changing buses went smoothly. Everyone was really nice. You see a lot in a short time.
Great way to get from Launceston to Hobart! The scenery was spectacular. Some great walks along the way!
Walk to wine glass bay was amazing, although I was a little puffed at the top, it was well worth the walk, the views on the way were beautiful. Our tour guide graham was very informative, friendly & helpful. We had a great day.
Despite the mostly gloomy rainy weather, was able to enjoy fabulous scenery - specifically in Freycinet National Park. Glad I had water-resistant coat & umbrella. Both drivers were nice blokes, provided lots of information, & kind enough to drop me off at my Hobart hotel.
