Lake Tahoe’s crown jewel – an oasis of shimmering greens, turquoise and blues against a strikingly beautiful mountain backdrop on the Lake’s west shore – this is Emerald Bay. Due to Lake Tahoe’s incredible clarity and depth, the colors of the lake are surreal, and Emerald Bay is the perfect place to take in the entirety of the scene.
Vikingsholm is considered one of the finest examples of Scandinavian architecture in the United States. It is now a part of the Harvey West Unit of the Emerald Bay State Park. The house is open for tours during the summer months and the magnificent scenery may be enjoyed all year around by those wishing to visit this beautiful setting.
Eagle Falls is one of three waterfalls that eventually cascade down into the creek that runs into Emerald Bay. Your guide will take you on a novice level hike to the main waterfall. A man made bridge spans the waterfall and provides a scenic spot for your guide to photograph your party.
Baldwin Beach stretches for a half mile, with breathtaking views of the Sierra Nevada mountains soaring in the distance. Unlike other Tahoe beaches, it great for swimming. There's also a nice paved trail that runs through the forest nearby; it's great for walking, running, or biking.

I was quite disappointed with this Lake Tahoe day tour, especially considering how expensive it was. The overall experience did not feel worth the price we paid. The biggest issue was the lack of information provided during the tour. We expected the guide/driver to share some interesting facts, history, or insights about Lake Tahoe and the different locations we visited, but there was very little to no explanation throughout the trip. At each stop, the driver would simply drop us off at the entrance and we were left to explore on our own. The driver mentioned that he could not use the paid parking services, which meant we had to walk further to reach some spots. For a paid guided tour at this price point, we expected a more organized experience with proper guidance and convenience. Overall, the tour felt more like transportation rather than a guided sightseeing experience. Given the cost, the service and value provided were disappointing.
The Lake is amazing. Points shown were limited. Overall planning was poor. Mid sized SUV is not enough space for 7 people for a 7 hour round trip, a bigger car would have been better. Only plus point was the driver was good. Would not recommend for the price.
