We were greeted by an employee at the ticket office of Santa Caterina very indeed quite rude, he did not want to give me info on costs and what ticket to buy, he kept saying: yes give it ok pay! Come on, all right, pay up! He responded badly and rudely bordering on teasing. 2 English tourists arrived and could not even say 2 words in English...very annoyed he replied: where are you going! Where you go! I have lived in LEGGIUNO for 30 years and I have never received such a service in Santa Caterina. Think tourists. And it's only 9.40.

When visiting scenic Lake Maggiore a good day tour is to take the sight seeing island tour of Isola Madre, Isola Superiore & Isola Bella...each island has special attractions & sights - plus good shopping & restaurants. Definitely worth taking a full day to plan for and experience.
Amazing views from the boat, both of the lake and islands on it. The scenery was as beautiful as it was stunning.
We have been touring in November and the weather was superb! We had a perfect Italian lunch on Isola Bella. The sight of Matterhorn peak from the lake was breath-taking.
