The Kuranda Riverboat tour is a short 45 minute tour of the Barron River where the boat driver provides some commentary around the rainforest area and fauna in the vicinity. If you're looking for crocs you may be disappointed. We did see one basking but being a freshwater croc it was small in comparison to what expectations of size may. There were many turtles waiting for food at a designated spot along with fish. I think overpriced for what it was and not very adventurous. Maybe best left for Bus Tour options rather than couples.
I am sorry you were disappointed with the cruise you went on. There are only freshwater crocodiles in the river in Kuranda. If you want to see saltwater crocodiles you need to be down on the coast. Our cruises are not advertised as being "adventurous" but a relaxing cruise surrounded by world heritage tropical rainforest and awesome wildlife, which may or may not choose to be visible during a cruise.
A fantastic morning cruise with Gary. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. A great way to see a slice of rainforest wildlife in Kuranda
Thank you for your kind review. I am very pleased you enjoyed the cruise you went on with Gary and got to see some of the wildlife that lives in the area.
This riverboat cruise was one of the highlights of the cruise. 45mins went much too fast. It was awesome to feed the fish and turtles and see crocodiles in the wild. Gary was an awesome guide ! Informative and entertaining
Thank you very much Candy for your review. I'm glad you found the cruise informative and entertaining.
We came to Cairns to celebrate a 50th and Gary was amazing!!! He made the whole experience enjoyable, really engaged with us - we were laughing most of the boat ride. And he came up with the goods - we saw 2 saltwater crocodiles…for me it has been a highlight of the trip as I wanted to see one in the wild. Thank you for this beautiful tour you do and a big thank you to Gary!!!!
I am so pleased you had a great time with Gary on your cruise. The crocodiles you were lucky to see are in fact freshwater crocodiles and not the man-eating saltwater crocodile.
From Japan, I went to GW. There was a time on the day, so I made a reservation from the QR on the information board. I was with a 9-year-old child, and the wind was so pleasant that the child said, "It feels good!!!!" And I finally fell asleep. lol The guide explained it in English, but I kind of get it. On the way, he found about three crocodiles and told me. I also enjoyed stopping and feeding the boat at spots with turtles and fish! We also heard that coffee is famous, so after disembarking we went to a café for a curanda coffee. It is a very recommended tour ^^
Thank you very much for your review. I am glad you and your child enjoyed the calm breeze and the wildlife that you saw during your cruise.
Gary was extremely knowledgeable and easily passed on information with a good sense of humor. Great bang for buck. Highly recommend.
Thank you for your review. Glad you felt the cruise was enjoyable and value for money.
This is a short tour of the river. The captain is friendly and knowledgeable and enjoys sharing this wonderful area with his guests. He tells some of the history of Kuranda and gives much information about the wildlife and plant life. The boat is stable and comfortable enough for the tour. We especially enjoyed knowing more about the bird life surrounding us.
Thanks very much Pamela for leaving a review of your experience on the Kuranda Riverboat.

A great little boat trip with opportunities to see wildlife such as freshwater crocodiles, turtles and lots of birds. Guide gave us lots of information about the river and its history as well as the adjacent rainforest. Booking process was very flexible, with short notice changes possible (subject to availability). Would definitely recommend.
