Potential booker be warned it you are on NCL cruise line- it is a tender port and our booking was at 9 am, but could not get off the ship until almost 9 am- in all fairness the excursion does say to arrive at 8:30. We arrived at 9:02 am after calling numerous times and even had Viator try to call with no answer. When we had arrived the company told us there was no room on the boats (meaning they had sold our spots before 9). The company told us to come back at 12 to see if there was availability in which we did- only to watch them sell more spots again on site and tell us there was no availability. Again, trying to be fair to the company as they are there to make money, I can not completely blame them for anything other than not answering our calls or Viator's calls as each of them had phones and were using them and selling our spots before the excursion time.
This entire excursion was a disaster from the start. Three of us arrived 25 minutes prior to the start time due to insane traffic we couldn't cross the street. We were told since we were late that we couldn't go on the excursion. It took 20 minutes of trying to explain that we were 3 out of group of 15 and all the others had checked us in already. They never even asked our name or to see the ticket. The entire pier was chaotic and the "manager" was bouncing back and forth between each group and got frustrated with me trying to ask her why we could't go and she said "you just go sit down, away from here". Eventually, the "manager" understood and said we were ok to go with our group. We were booked through Blue Hawaii tours. Our large group of 15 were told that we would have to be separated on two boats- perfectly reasonable and fine. However, when it came time to board the boat they put our group on two different tour company boats! We kept saying to the captain that we needed to stay together with the other boat, but they did not understand. We stopped in Prast and eventually found out that we had been put on wrong boat, wrong company, wrong itinerary. They did get in touch with the other boat and we were eventually then reunited in Prast. The boat was so fast and the water so choppy it was not an enjoyable boat ride at all. Then we went to the submarine tunnels for about 4 minutes. blue cave which was about 3 minutes then offered 5 min of swimming time (no snorkel gear as advertised) back on the boat for a white knuckle experience holding on for dear life. Our boat captain literally was dodging other boats last second and crossing their wakes. We asked him to slow down and the kids were scared, but he did not he just turned the music up full blast. We did not stop at Our lady of the rocks as advertised and were dropped back off at the pier. Thankful to be on land again, I can say that was absolutely the worse boat ride of our lives. We are regular boaters and it was the worse experience! Between the chaos and miscommunication, language barriers, and lack of safety I would not recommend this tour.
Really a great way to experience the area around Kotor.
Extremely rude. We got lost. When I asked for help the owner didn't answer. Then he yelled at me telling me it was my fault and I needed to take responsibility. I sent 4 messages and called not getting a response. Beautiful country, But the rudest company I have ever talked to traveling.
Honestly one of the highlights of our European vacation. Speeding down the Bay of Kotor blasting disco music was such a vibe. Our driver was a blast and looked like he absolutely loves his job. Would do this again in a heartbeat!!
Very disappointed. Our boat driver was texting the entire time which made us feel unsafe. We also were not offered life jackets or snorkel gear at any time. In fact, we had to ask if we could even get off the boat and swim. No free WiFi as advertised and we barely spent any time at each stop and with minimal history of each spot. The driver didn’t introduce himself or even attempt to meet us.
They were very friendly and knowledgeable. You swim outside of the blue cave not directly in it. It was a great experience
I did not get the experience I was promised. First of all we had young drivers, and though polite, they drove like teenage drivers on a boat. If you didn't have back problems you did after our ride. Next our experience was to include life vests, snorkel masks, and an extensive guided experience with stories a information. We got the most basic information at each site, max. of a rehearsed paragraph. When I asked questions to our driver/guide, he was not able to answer. We where supposed to snorkel in Blue cave and spend 30 min. doing so. We spent 4 min. in Blue cave with no option to swim and no snorkel masks were given out. We were given 10 min. to swim in the ocean 1/4 of a mile from the cave. Finally, the company asked us to arrive 30 min. before the start of the tour. They were so unorganized with assigning people to boats. We didn't get on our boat until 15 min. after our tour was supposed to start. Then our tour ended 15 min. before it was supposed to end. On top of our 3 hour tour only being 2.5 hours, part of that time was spent picking up/dropping off other people at different locations. If you are looking for just a boat ride of the sights with no explanations and a fast, bumpy and rough boat ride, then this might be the trip for you. I did speak to the company representative about not being on the right tour, and she talked to her manager who told her to tell us to call the phone number. So obviously they don't care about the reviews.
The guy steering the boat was more interested in putting his sun tan lotion on & texting than driving. We got pulled over & given a speeding ticket. We asked to be taken back to the pier, but he just kept going faster. I have never felt so unsafe in my life!!!
First let me say, it was an amazing day. Not what i signed up for though. The boat left 20 minutes late and then turned back to pick up 4 more persons, bringing the total to 18 when we were told 12 max. People in the front had to sit two deep. Next we motored past Lady of the Rock. I asked the driver if we were stopping on the return snd he said 'not this week' . What! I purchased a tour that stopped at Lady of the Rock and I confirmed it with the manager. I would have chosen a different tour operator.
