Great "off season" tour experience

My friend and I visited Podgorica in March 2025 for a long weekend. As Podgorica does not have that much to offer, we booked a tour to see Budva and Kotor, while in Montenegro. Dimitrije from "Mont Travelers Podgorica" gave us a fantastic day. Lots of stops on the way from Podgorica towards the coast, and lots of knowledge and discussions on Montenegro. We got a great feel for the country and the people. Even though it was raining a bit, we had a excellent tour day. We stopped at Lake Skadar, with stunning views. Stop at Rijeka Crnojevica, which is the most picturesque little town by the river bank. Budva and Kotor are so beautiful, but very touristic - we do not dare to think how they are in high season with cruise ships arriving daily. We totally recommend to take a tour with Mont Travelers, a great local tour agency.

Operator response

Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful review! We’re happy you chose to explore more of Montenegro during your stay in Podgorica. Our day tour from Podgorica to Budva, Kotor, Lake Skadar, and Rijeka Crnojevića is one of our most popular routes — perfect for getting a real feel for Montenegro’s nature, culture, and coastline. It was my pleasure guiding you around my beautiful country. Hope to welcome you again on another Mont Travelers adventure! Best regards!

Old meets new

Had a pretty good experience with the tour overall. Actually we're glad that could cut it a little shorter as had another tour booked 2 days later specific to Skadar Lake. Since we did that had enough time to go up the new Cable Road in Kotor and that was absolutely amazing experience

See all the best bits of Montenegro

A great trip if you want to see all the best bits of the country in one day! We got to see the infamous island in Budva, with photos tops above the town too, then went into Budva and looked around the old town for about 20 mins. Then went to Kotor, where we got more photos stops above the town, and then when we go into the town our guide allowed us 1.5hrs of free time, we had lunch in this time. We then drove to Skadar national park where you get to see the river bend you’ve probably seen in the pictures! It’s a great day for photos, seeing all the best sights. It’s less of a ‘doing things’ tour, more of a viewing the best sights. Me and my partner were prepared for hiking etc but it’s really not that kind of tour if that’s what you’re after, however it’s great for saying all the best bits of the country in one day! Thoroughly enjoyed it, thank you to our guide! 😊

Highlight of Montenegro day tour

First time in Montenegro so wanted a custom day tour to see the highlights. Was extremely satisfied. The team at Monte Travelers were very responsive. My guide Dimitrije was courteous, knowledgeable, and making sure I was getting the right Montenegrin experience. I’m happy I went with this company instead of driving since the roads are narrower than I’m used to and it can get crowded. Relax and go with the pros.

Amazing personal Scenic tour of Montenegro

This scenic tour is a must when in Montenegro ! Kotor is a beautiful fortified old town and the way is built on the mountain over looking the Adriatic bay is quite impressive . Our guide Alex was very informative and he went out of his way to stop us at various stops on the way to enjoy the breathtaking views and take photos, he was an amazing personal guide we thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend him he was so eager to give us as much information and history as he could during the day! He also stopped us for a tasting of their ham and cheese on the way to Budva as well as stopped to see the old capital cetinje which is also worth seeing.

Amazing tour of resort area in Budva, Old Towns Budva & Kotor

On our cruise we booked the tour (near 7 hours) to explore overlooks on the way to Budva from the port in Kotor. The guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant and answered questions we asked. She had a tourism degree and her knowledge was evident. She shared the history of the area, the resort community old and new, the churches, squares and some about the people of both Budva and Kotor while we visited both Old Town areas. She mentioned some of the celebrities who have stayed there and who have given concerts and also spoke of the growing tourism in the area. Beautiful area with rich history and lots of interesting information and beautiful views.

Coastal trip

We often have clients fly to Montenegro and usually, we use the occasion to do some sightseeing as well. Definitely a great itinerary for those who want to see most of the Montenegrin coast in a relatively short time.

Beautiful tour of the coast.

A great tour to discover the coast of Montenegro with beautiful little coastal medieval towns like Kotor & Budva. We drove along the Serpentine road with its beautiful scenic views and many tunnels and discovered the beautiful towns and Skadar Lake. Dimitrije made sure to stop at the best lookouts for us to take beautiful pictures.
