Itinerary
We will visit Kotonoha, a traditional Japanese house café. The café is located in an old-style Japanese home. Our first activity will be Japanese calligraphy with a professional calligraphy teacher. She will show you how to write in Japanese and also create your name in beautiful calligraphy. This is a wonderful way to experience traditional Japanese culture.
Our second activity is a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. You will make your own tea and relax inside the beautiful old Japanese house. This experience offers a calm and peaceful atmosphere, and you can also take a walk around the neighborhood to enjoy the charm of the Japanese countryside.
The final activity is lunch. The restaurant serves Kobe beef in a yakiniku (grilled meat) style, along with traditional Japanese dishes such as oden and various appetizers, all served with white rice. At the end of the meal, you’ll enjoy a cup of herbal medicine tea (yakuzen-cha) and matcha jelly for dessert. The Kobe beef is incredibly tender—it melts in your mouth. If you want to experience both premium Kobe beef and authentic local Japanese cuisine, this is the perfect place.

A very traditional home/ restaurant with paper doors and mats on the floors. The ladies for the calligraphy and tea ceremony were excellent. Nozo was the best in all aspects. Which included a translation of the Japanese language for us. The meal was outstanding. The Kobe beef was served hibachi style along with several side dishes. The whole was well worth the time. It was a very personal and intimate experience in a private residential setting. I would highly recommend this cultural tour. A more personal look and taste of a life in kobe.
Fantastic guide with impeccable English! Highly recommend 10/10 Truly a great day and a most pleasant side of Kobe!
