Knossos Palace & Archaeological Museum: E-Tickets with Audio Tour

When booking, you get the following: A ticket for Knossos Palace, a ticket for the Archeological Museum, and an Audio Guide for each However, both are only valid during a specific time frame. For us, we had to be at the palace between 08:00 and 09:00 and the museum at 13:00 and 14:00. Entering outside these timeframes is not possible, if you are too late the tickets are invalid. In our opinion, this requirement is not clearly stated anywhere in the description here. This leaves you with the following: The tickets to the Palace and Museum can be bought for 20€ each, on site or directly on line of the instituions website. This saves you the trouble with the restricted time windows. All you have left then as befit of booking here is the audio guides. They are really nice! However, both the Museum and Knossos offer their own guides to download once you are there Therefore, you will have to decide for yourself if spending money here is worth it. We bought our tickets for the Knossos Palace and the Archaeological Museum online so we wouldn’t have to stand in line with small children. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were told we needed to have entered the Knossos Palace between 8:00 and 8:59. This wasn’t clearly mentioned when we purchased the tickets. Since we arrived at 10:00, we weren’t allowed in, and our tickets went unused. We had no choice but to buy new ones at the ticket office. They also wouldn’t allow us to make any changes. It was very disappointing and really spoiled our day.

The time slot for the museum was late in the day, 7 hours after the palace. That was not clear in the booking. The tickets were not well received at the museum. The narratives were just Ok.

We came out of the cruise ship and there were people guided which bus to take for the places of i Teresa’s. This Knossos palace ruins is far from the port but it is worth the trip and price. Go early to avoid the crowd and bring water because the little street vendors are quite far from this place. Wear hat.

It was not so crowded partially it was extremely windy day. Parthenon in Athens is great, but Knossos Palace is even older and lots to see. We went Archeological Museum first, which has the model of entire palace. The guide tour was nice because it explains the interest facts, though, it was bit hard to navigate where the next area we are supposed to go once we reach the large open area.

Really liked walking among the ruins. It was nice to listen to all the history there was and how everything was laid out and restored. We had beautiful weather and had a good time.

We really enjoyed visiting the Knossos Palace. It was very interesting and we learned a lot. We definitely recommend this tour for everyone. Lots of families with smaller kids. It was great

Audio tour a complete waste of money. Directional cues were poor, information outdated, and too many side stories having nothing to do with the sights

We enjoyed the opportunity to go at our own pace and the audio directions were somewhat easy to follow and the stories were interesting. (Only got off the path once or twice). I would suggest getting this a day before you go and definitely contact them for the tickets and downloads so it’s not a panic situation when you get there. I was under the impression that you could get the information you needed once you got there but it took a while as there wifi was slow. ( thankfully there was free wifi there which I had to learn from those that would help you. We found that if you were not using there products, they were not helpful at all) I had the download’s installed on my husbands phone as well and we both found that the audio of both tours would start to compete against each other at times so you had to shut everything down and start again after finding the place where you left off. Lastly, I would recommend the museum as it was amazing. I hope this review helps so that others don’t have to repeat our experience.

The audio playback was intermittent and too annoying to use. Both locations were interesting. I just wish I didn’t waste money on the audio recordings.
