Itinerary
Muckross House stands in the midst of a densely wooded area of the 10,000 acre Muckross Demesne. The mansion was built in 1843 and was designed by William Burns. The grounds of the house consist of well laid out flower gardens, rockeries, shrubberies and lawns extending out to grassland, stately pine woods, and lake-shore. The traditional farms will transport you back to a time in Ireland when family life was much simpler.
Ross Castle stands on the eastern shore of Lough Lein, where it adopts a commanding position. The castle is a very ancient one, thought to have been built in the 15th century. A spiral staircase of stone leads to the top, from whence a marvellous panorama can be viewed.
St. Mary's Cathedral was designed by A. W. N. Pugin (1812-1852). The foundation stone was laid inn 1842, and work on the building commenced and continued through the famine years. By 1853 many homeless people were housed in the completed aisles of the church, and under the "Griffiths Valuation Act", which came into being in that year, the church was classified as an auxiliary work-house.
Aghadoe, commands beautiful views of the lakes and mountains. Here, can be seen the ruins of the ancient church, which bears traces of two periods, generally assumed to be the seventh and twelfth centuries.
Ladies View received its name during the 1861 visit of Queen Victoria to Ireland. Ladies View offers marvelous views of the valleys, lakes and hills, including the Black Valley, the Upper and Middle Lakes, McGillicuddy Reeks and the Gap of Dunloe. This is the perfect spot for picture taking, the site also includes Ladies View Café.
Torc Waterfall is about 100ft from cliff edge to river bed, and is watched by many with wonderous awe. The mountain, abounding in trees, shrubs and vegetation, contains the famous Torc Waterfall, caused by the swift turn west of the Torc River, and cascading down the mountain side in a great roaring torrent, and whirling into a fast flowing current through great rocks and boulders, reverting again to its normal river formation, winding its way down to the Muckross Lake.
Killarney National Park was the first national park in Ireland, created when Muckross Estate was donated to the Irish Free State in 1932. The park encompasses over 102.89 sq km (25,425 acres) of diverse ecology, including the Lakes of Killarney, oak and yew woodlands of international importance, and mountain peaks. It has the only red deer herd on mainland Ireland and the most extensive covering of native forest remaining in Ireland. The park was designated a UNESCO Biosphere reserve in 1981.

Our driver/guide Tony was great. He adjusted our itinerary to ensure we were able to make the most of our day despite afternoon showers. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and experiences exploring all the National park sites and were able to create amazing memories as well as capture pictures to commemorate our time.
Mr. William was an excellent representative of Kerry Taxi Tours. The vehicle was clean and comfortable. We had the best time and plan to come back with more relatives. I would highly recommend this company and this tour.
Billy was our tour guide and he knocked it out of the park! We didn't have cooperating weather in the morning and he adjusted the tour to ensure we had a great experience regardless. We still saw the sites listed which we appreciated! He also came prepared with extra water, large umbrellas, binoculars, and great knowledge! He also stopped at multiple sites to get breathtaking sites along the way we wouldn't have seen without his expertise. He even noticed a sheep dog demonstration happening close by and he stopped so we could see it which was fantastic! He really put thought and effort in this tour so we could have a wonderful experience! Highly recommend!!
HI Pamela, We are so happy that you enjoyed your tour despite the Irish weather but we are not famed for our sunshine.I have passed your kind words onto Billy and he is delighted to know that you enjoyed your trip, thank you for choosing Kerry Taxi Tours . Best wishes for the future, Kerry Taxi Tours.
this tour was for my in-laws. the tour operator Bill was amazing, there was a last minute change to the pick up site that he was able to accommodate as well as providing valuable insight to the locations listed. My in laws absolutely loved this tour and rated it as their top experience in the southern part of Ireland and Killarney.
Hi Justin, we are delighted your in-laws enjoyed their trip, they were an absolute pleasure to have on tour for the day.
Mr. William was an excellent representative of Kerry Taxi Tours. We had the most wonderful time seeing all of the sights and learning from his extensive knowledge about the area. We were able to learn more and experience more than we would have if we explored on our own or were on a bus tour. It was a comfortable, clean, and extremely relaxing ride. The private taxi was the most enriching and enjoyable experience we could have possibly had. I feel we have been able to truly see the Killarney area, learn some of its history, and carry those memories together for a long time. I cannot say enough about what a wonderful tour we had with Mr. William. If you are looking for an unforgettable experience, don't hesitate to click and book this one, or any tour with Kerry Taxi Tours! With gratitude, The Edwards Family
Hi It wS our pleasure to meet you and show ye the beauty of Killarney, our day is such a delight when we meet people which show as much enthusiasm as you did ,again thank you for your booking and we are delighted to have made your trip memorable.

Hi,it was our pleasure to help make your visit to Ireland a memorable experience, it makes our day special when we tour with lovely people such as you, wishing you the very best for the future. Kerry Taxi Tours .
We were never picked up waited more than 1 hour and was told the tour was overbooked we called a Taxi and made our own day calling a taxi to go to each destination. The service rep I spoke with was very rude and had no concern of our situation.
Hi, In response to your review there are a number of false claims made , to deal with your last claim first I spoke with you and was not rude, in fact you forgot to mention that I advised you as to the steps you needed to take to receive a full refund which I can see from booking agent account you did receive a full refund , interesting that you should omit this fact. The morning I spoke to you I pointed out to you that we had never accepted you booking knowing that we were fully booked for that week, this information was sent to your booking agent immediately on receipt of your form, this information was also sent to you directly by text and voice mail to the telephone number you provided on your form ,it was also sent to you by email through the facility provided on the booking agent web site, I have once again read this email which stated we were not accepting this booking "due to circumstances beyond our control" at no time mentioning the word "overbooked "used in fact the tour you booked was a private tour as are all our tours, we do not cater for mixed group tours making it impossible to overbook a tour I am sorry if you had a poor experience but can state beyond and doubt that it was not of our making and I am happy in the knowledge that we provide a first class private tour service. Finally Theresa to sum up I feel your confusion lies between you and your email/phone and booking agent as we do not pick up people for tours we do not have confirmed bookings for. Kerry Taxi Tours.
Fantastic tour! William was an amazing tour guide with lots of knowledge of the area, and he was very witty. This was one of the highlights of our trip!
Many thanks for your kind words, delighted you enjoyed your tour with Kerry Taxi Tours.
This was hands down my favorite tour while traveling through Ireland. Our guide William was amazing- funny, informative, a good driver, and accommodating. On top of that every stop was breathtaking. Can’t recommend this tour (and William!) enough.
Many thanks for your kind words, the Killarney Valley & National Park is amazing and different every time of the year.
I'm so glad that we did a tour rather than trying to navigate the roads ourselves. Brian was a fantastic tour guide and filled us in on so much great history that we would not have known otherwise. Some of the roads are pretty narrow and windy as well, so having someone else drive meant that we could all enjoy the scenery.
We are delighted you enjoyed your tour with Kerry Taxi Tours, Please recommend us to your friends where we can once again share the experience of Kerry where large coach tours do not travel.
