Itinerary
A visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial is a powerful and emotional experience. Here, you’ll learn about the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi through exhibits, survivor stories, and memorial gardens. The site honors over 250,000 victims buried in mass graves and showcases Rwanda’s journey of resilience and reconciliation. It’s a deeply moving visit that provides a greater understanding of the country’s history and strength.
At this memorial we remember the ten Belgian UN peacekeepers who were killed at the start of the 1994 genocide. It is a quiet but important place that shows the role of international forces and adds context to Rwanda’s history.
At the Mbuga City Walk, we stroll through one of the cleanest and most vibrant parts of Kigali, right in the city center. Here, you’ll see a mix of modern buildings and older houses, each with its own story. It’s a chance to feel the rhythm of the city and see how Kigali has grown over time. For those who love to shop or support local talent, this area is full of small shops and vendors selling beautiful handmade crafts, fashion, and Made-in-Rwanda products. We’ll also stop by the one and only famous Kigali signage — perfect for snapping a photo and capturing a great memory of your visit.
We stop at Elikapeka for a traditional Rwandan lunch. It is a cozy spot where you can enjoy a variety of local dishes and get a feel for everyday Rwandan cuisine.
Biryogo Car-Free Street is where Kigali’s creativity comes alive. Bright murals, street art, and the buzz of local life make it one of the city’s most exciting spots. We go there to feel the energy, connect with people, and see a side of Kigali that is fun, colorful, and unforgettable
At the Nyamirambo Women’s Center you will meet local women who run community projects and create handmade crafts. It is a chance to see their work, hear their stories, and support women’s initiatives that empower families in Kigali.
We’ll conclude our city tour with a visit to Mount Kigali, one of the highest points in the city..

Unbelievably amazing! I thought the day was packaged around my interests and priorities! Thank you Jeremiah (Jerry) for such an incredible day !
Dear Joao_L, Thank you for your wonderful review. We are really happy to hear that the day felt personalized to your interests and that you had such an incredible experience with Jerry. That is exactly what we aim for. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back again soon.
Thank you very much, I will definitely cherish this moment I guide was so friendly polite and very very patient with us every demand or question was catered accordingly.
Thank you very much Michael. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your Kigali day tour and felt well taken care of. Your kind feedback means a lot, and we hope to welcome you again.
This tour was 100% worth it. Having Jeremiah as a driver-guide made all the difference. he shared stories, history, and insights that gave real depth to everything we saw. The tour felt smooth and well-paced, and every stop had a purpose. Jeremiah clearly knows Kigali well. He’s smart, friendly, and easy to talk to. Communication before the tour was clear and helpful, which made things even easier. Kigali is such a beautiful, clean, and well-organized city, and having someone guide you through it instead of just hiring a driver really adds value. Lunch was also a highlight. It was tasty and in a great spot. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience Kigali with context and comfort.
Thank you Odyssey for your kind review. We are glad you enjoyed your Kigali tour with Jeremiah and appreciated his knowledge and guidance. It is wonderful to hear that the pace, stops, and lunch made the experience even better. We really appreciate your recommendation.
I had a wonderful day exploring Kigali with Ange, a guide from Iriza Tours. She was warm, insightful, and incredibly attentive to both our interests and comfort throughout the day. Her deep knowledge of Rwandan history, culture, and daily life made every stop meaningful and engaging. We visited the Genocide Memorial. It was a deeply moving and emotional visit — sobering, powerful, and one that stays with you long after. We also visited the memorial for the Belgian paratroopers — a lesser-known but very important site that she made sure we didn’t miss. Lunch was at a lovely African restaurant with excellent local cuisine, and we had time to browse some beautiful art shops showcasing Rwandan creativity and talent. Ange even went the extra mile to recommend a great local spot for my friend to get his hair braided — a small detail that made a big difference in our day. Ange truly made Kigali come alive for us, and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a meaningful and well-organized introduction to the city.
Thank you so much, Johan. I am glad you enjoyed the day exploring Kigali and that the tour felt meaningful. It was a pleasure showing you around the city.
We had such a wonderful experience traveling here, from the high-speed trip itself to the time we spent with our guide, Germain. He is not just knowledgeable, he is genuinely kind and patient. Germain took the time to explain the history, including the tragedy of 1994, in such a thoughtful way that it really stayed with us. It is inspiring to see how much the country has grown since then. The people are so warm and welcoming, and the progress everywhere is clear. Traveling here is not just about the sights, it is about understanding the story, and Germain made that possible for us. We are so grateful for his guidance. He truly made this trip unforgettable. Highly recommend!
Thank you, Ruby, for your kind words. We are so glad to hear how much you valued Germain’s guidance and the meaningful experience you had in Kigali.
