John was the most incredible guide I have experienced. Not only local, but a person who knows and loves the land. Never will I ever hear someone say, "I need to go to the gas station and pick up some herring"! His knowledge of ehere to find the ripe salmon berries (and bears), the coast to watch the humpback bubble feed, and then feeding the eagles herring was an experience I will cherish all my life.
This was an awesome trip. The tour guide was funny and very informative. I thought it was going to be more walking but mainly just toured in a vehicle. The guide noticed something in the water by the road, we got out and a humpback was bubble feeding right by the shore, that alone made the whole trip for us!!
The tour guide, Al, was knowledgeable. We got to see all that we wanted to see including the elusive bear.
Not what we were expecting for a rain forest tour. More driving around taking a few pictures. We hoped to walk and hike to learn about rain forest. I am glad we did the river Salmon walk first!
First off, thank you for touring with us! I'm sorry to hear that the tour didn't live up to your expectations. Second, hiking trails are a permitted experience that requires tours specifically doing hiking. If you're headed back to Alaska in the future, contact my office at reservations@discoverketch.com and we can help you connect with a more hiking-forward excursion next time you're in town!
Al was outstanding as our guide! He even taught us how to get the most out of our IPhone cameras and took some great panoramic photos and videos. The Eagle experience was awesome! Highly recommend this Ketchikan tour.
Thanks so much for touring with us! We loved having you guys on tour at the end of last month! The eagles are in full force this time of year, so I'm glad you got to enjoy them!
The experience was amazing. Our guide, Al was knowledgeable and personable, and we saw lots of wild life. The group was intimate enough to make it conversational and casual. I’d book again.
Thanks so much for touring with us! We loved having you guys on tour at the end of last month! Small groups make the experience so much more immersive! That's why we never sell more than 12 seats!
It was such a great experience! Thank you so much for taking us. We got to see the bears twice, definitely recommend :)
Thanks so much for touring with us! We loved having you guys on tour at the end of last month! Love the double bears moment!
The guide was excellent, we had alot of fun and learned so much about Ketchikan. Definitely check it out if you want to see eagles and bears and a rainforest.
Thanks so much for touring with us! We loved having you guys on tour at the end of last month! It's such a thrill when a tour gets to see all the wildlife in one day!
Great tour! Al was a fantastic guide and spent a lot of time taking really great pictures of us - he knows all the iPhone tricks! He took us through downtown Ketchikan, pointed out sites and narrated history, then we continued to Tongass National Forest. We saw bald eagles, seals, and even 3 black bears! We also saw a really impressive waterfall. We tried spruce, and had the opportunity to buy locally made smoked salmon and fudge. We bought both and they were outstanding.
Thanks so much for touring with us! We loved having you guys on tour at the end of last month! You guys really embraced the Alaskan experience that we love so much, and it was such a blast to have you on tour!
Bears and Eagles and seals! Oh MY!! We had a great time with Al who was full of great information and tons of experience. New van was super clean and he was easy to hear during the drive because of his PA system.
Thanks so much for touring with us! We loved having you guys on tour at the end of last month! Glad to hear the PA system is working well. I installed it myself in April, and I am not a mechanic. Thanks again, see you next time!
