Excellent guide and trip! I highly recommend it!
Thank you so much for your kind recommendation!
Our guide Alex was amazing!!! We had limited time in Atitlan and this was a good way to see/learn a lot in a short amount of time. You have the option to do ~1.5 hours of kayaking followed by ~1.5 hours of hiking, or you can add in a boat ride to visit some other villages in the area. Alex was good friends with the locals so we got a great look at the culture, art, and food! Alex was super helpful the entire time and was lots of fun!! He was so incredibly nice and definitely our favorite guide of our trip. I recommend you wear hiking shoes because the hike is a real hike, and they’ll bring you your shoes after kayaking so you don’t have to worry about getting them wet. There’s also an opportunity to change out of your wet clothes after the kayaking part. Bring cash with you too to pay for the boat transfers if you add in any village visits!
Thank you so much for your amazing review! We’re so glad you had a great experience with Alex—he’ll be happy to hear he was your favorite guide! Thanks as well for the helpful tips, and we hope to see you again for another adventure
Fernando was an excellent and patient guide. Beware: this adventure is not for the faint of heart and physically challenging
Thank you so much for this wonderful review! ❤️ Fernando will be absolutely thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed the experience. We’re honored by your enthusiastic recommendation. ...
Kayaking was a lot of fun and offered great views of the lake and also the beautiful homes along the lake. Fernán was an awesome guide, really funny and informative. We opted for a trip to San Juan for the second half of the day and it was awesome to see the textiles, bee farm, and chocolate museum.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the kayaking experience and that our guide made a positive impression. We look forward to welcoming you on another adventure in the future.
The kayaking was so much fun and the swim spot was amazing. The hike was lovely, had some fantastic view of the lake and surrounding villages. I would recommend trainers or sturdy shoes for the hike. The place to eat lunch at the end was delicious! The guide was super friendly!
Thank you for the positive feedback. Our guides enjoy reading the reviews, as well as others who might consider booking this adventure with us. We hope you enjoyed all of your Guatemala adventures as much as this one. Safe travels,
Great mix of activities in and around Santa Cruz at Lake Atitlan. We kayaked, swam and hiked with a guide from the area. Ended at a restaurant with great local food. I was traveling with my two adult kids and the activity level was perfect for all of us. We loved Santa Cruz as it felt less touristy.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. Our team is happy that you enjoyed the class and your visit to Santa Cruz La Laguna. We hope to see you again soon,
Our guide Diego from Santa Cruz was wonderful, and generous with sharing his knowledge of his community. The hiking was very strenuous! A never to forget experience.
We had such an enjoyable morning with Fernando. Because we weren't staying in Panajachel, we arranged to meet him at the lancha dock. Then it was off to Los Elementos to get the kayaks. It was great to see the lake from that level and then, later, from our hike on the Lower Mayan trail from Santa Cruz to Jaibalito. Lake Atitlan is stunning! After a stop at El Indigo (great views, coffee, and food), Fernando accompanied us back to Panajachel. He also took some great photos of our morning and shared them with us, which was greatly appreciated.
We had a great time floating out on the lake. Clear beautiful day. We did the 1/2 day which was perfect. Our guide Antonio was also great. Lunch at Indigo Cafe of fresh fish was ideal!
It was our first day in Panajachel and we had a blast with Diego. We picked the full day kayak and hike and we weren’t disappointed. We even got to go cliff jumping! Diego took great pictures of us and we never felt rushed.
