Highly recommend Mr. Mamousis

My family and I had a wonderful tour of Olympia Archeological Site, Klio’s honey farm and the Kremastis Monastery with Mr. Mamousis. He provided great insight into the history of the area, shared stories about his own life, and was a delightful conversationist. He did not accompany us inside the Olympia Archeological Site as he’s not licensed as an official guide, but gave us an informational booklet to take with us and the site itself had plenty of informational signs. We appreciated the flexibility of being able to decide how much time we wanted to spend in Olympia/museum (recommend 2 hours minimum) before going to the honey farm and the monastery. The honey farm was interesting and a nice cool stop on a hot day. The monastery was small but had great views.

Great Value Private Tour

The private tour was absolutely the way to go. Our driver was so friendly and helpful and accommodating to our needs. The owner is the one that met us outside the ruins to tell us what we would see on the inside. They don't go in with you so be sure to get the guidebook at the entrance so you know more about each spot while you are in there. Great value.

An amazing day!

Gus was amazing! He was so fun and friendly and explained a lot of history of Olympia to us ! We went to an olive oil farm and got a great tour , followed by a winery tour and tasting and then to the Olympia monument site and then to the beach! He drove very safely and never made us feel rushed. He took time to ask us about our holiday and our country of Canada . We became good friends! This is a great tour don’t miss it! It’s a beautiful country with such wonderful People. Communication was easy with him both during and prior to the excursion.. he picked us up flight from the cruise port .

Great tour with excellent guide! You'll enjoy the tour. Highly recommend.

Lot of fun and worth it! Fotis, our guide, was excellent and met us right outside the boat. Easiest way to communicate to either text or call is with WhatsApp and you'll use it often. Guides aren't allowed into the sites so they will drop you off and you'll see the site then text/call when done. Fotis gave us plenty of time to see everything and we were done early a few times to move to next spot. The tour company will email you a description of the itinerary as well as the entrance fees. Crowds were there of course but didn't impact our plans. Highlight was the honey farm and Olympia (leave plenty of time because it's a large area). Fotis then took us to eat lunch at a great spot overlooking the coast and food was excellent. A great day and highly recommend! It's nice to have a private tour for flexibility, insider knowledge/recommendations and getting to know the area.

Great tour with kind and knowledgeable guide

We had a wonderful day! We learned so much about the area. Our visit to the Monastery and ruins was very interesting. The highlight of our trip was our visit to the Olive Oil Farm where we had a tour and then a lunch, which was amazing! Definitely a must in Olympia. Our guide, Theodoros, was so knowledgeable and kind. He made sure we had time to see everything and got us back to our cruise ship exactly when we wanted to be there. It was a memorable day!

Great short visit. Private is the way to go here.

We were met by Jon who took us to the Olympic site. Then we were greeted by the owner of the company who kindly showed us and explained what we were looking at. After that we went to a honey farm. It was interesting. But beware they charge when you leave. We went to a quaint Greek restaurant that was good. I liked the fact that our driver took us wherever we wanted to go. The best reason to go Private

Was disappointed all the...

Was disappointed all the photos for the tour showed a van but we got a 4 person taxi whose air conditioning did not work good and the car smelled like cigarette smoke. I didn't read the description good, it was pretty much a taxi service to/from each spot. I did really enjoy the honey farm, and the driver was very personable, it just wasn't what I had expected.

Cruisers to Katakolon and Olympia/Best Private Driver Experience

Theodoros worked hard to accommodate our request for transportation to an olive mill we preferred to go to as well as the ancient ruins. He arranged a private driver for us and our day in Katakolon/Olympia was one of the best days of our trip. It was also a very competitive price, almost better than the local taxis waiting for tourists getting off cruise ships. As cruisers, we wanted to ensure we got to see what was important without the stress of cutting it close to our sail away time. Nickolas, our driver, was not only gracious but very enthused and educated about the area and its history. He spoke excellent English and was very accommodating. His main objectives seem to be that we relaxed and enjoyed the locations and the history he was so very proud of. BONUS: Our lunch experience (his recommendation) at Taverna Osteris was our best meal in Greece and we truly enjoyed being among the locals. Thank you, Nicholas and thank you, Theodoros. We hope to see you again.
