I did this hike with Talitha. It was fantastic. She is a fabulous tour guide and even though I have been involved in the environment for 40 years I learnt so many new things. She has a lovely manner and was a good-safe driver in wet conditions. I saw my first trapdoor spider burrow and my third ever koala (and joey to boot) in the wild in 62 Aussie years!
Thank you for the feedback! Glad to hear you enjoyed the day and that the youngest member of our team is so appreciated with someone of your experience!
Unbelievably good tour. Pick up arrangements from our hotel were clear and after 3 more pickups (6 guests in total) we were driven to a selection of waterfalls and look out points. Talitha was the perfect guide, so knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic and totally determined to make sure everyone got what they wanted from the tour. Brief lunch stop then on. By now it was raining a lot, but bizarrely this seemed to add to the authenticity of the rainforest section of the trip ! Driven back to the Conservation Area where we saw loads of kangaroos, a couple of koalas, kookaburra and a wallaby. Dropped back to resort at about 6pm. There's a lot of walking to one of the falls, including some climbs and steps and a few areas of slippery rocks, but even as (ahem) a more mature gentleman, it wasn't impossible and Talitha kept a watchful eye on us. Yule be so glad you did it.
One of the Best experiences of our life. Lots of interesting sights, animals, and history coupled with a knowledgeable guide. The guide was very courteous, and friendly. I would recommend this tour over and over again.
Our guide was incredible knowledgeable, and paid particular attention to making sure the older people in the group had just as much fun as the younger participants. Regardless of age size or fitness level all were welcome and cared for… thank you Peter.
Our tour with Peter was second to none and cannot recommend his tours highly enough. Thoroughly enjoyable, so informative of the area, habitat and wildlife. he was great company and provided a first class service for our tour as part of our worldwide tour of [part of] Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
An absolutely beautiful contrast to the beach, surrounded by ferns, giant trees, and huge vines. Stunning views across the top of the rainforest canopy show the Gold Coast skyline in the distance. Peter is incredibly friendly, made everyone comfortable, and provided an abundance of information about the area, its history, the local plant life, and the many creatures that called it home. The small group provided an intimate experience and an opportunity to share travel experiences. Highly recommend.
Great group, patient host. Definitely recommend… Couple pointers Bring shoes with grip (tennis, sneakers, or hiking), bring a light jacket and/or a changes clothing…. The waterfalls were beautiful, but water equals a bit of a chill and maybe a bit of mud… still totally worth it. Peter is incredibly patient and made sure the entire group had a great experience. Bring a charged phone, a great attitude, and a smile. It’s gonna be a great day :)
This was one of the most memorable and fun trips I’ve ever been on. It was so awesome to get to see waterfalls, rainforest and kangaroos all in one day! I learned some new things and saw some beautiful lookouts and waterfalls. This is a must do trip when you are on the Gold Coast!
A full, active day seeing key natural sights in Queensland with an experienced naturalist guide. Peter led us through each stop on the thoughtfully curated itinerary with memorable and informative discussion about what to look for and history/context. We loved the hiking (covered five + miles on foot) and seeing plants, birds and animals unique to Australia. This day was such a highlight on our trip. Also, Peter engaged our group in a way that made us feel like a team! We highly recommend this experience!!
Rainforest and Kangaroo Experience This tour was absolutely fantastic! With only seven guests, it felt very personal and individual. With the small group you have an access to some parts, where the large groups are not allowed to go to. Our private guide was incredibly knowledgeable, flexible, and took plenty of time to explain everything about the rainforest, the animals, and the plants living there. We got to see so much — from stunning rainforest scenery to unique wildlife — all while enjoying beautiful and easy hikes. Lunch was delicious and homemade, with fresh fruits and a tasty nut bar. It really added a special touch to the day. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to explore a different side of the rainforest and truly learn about its fascinating ecosystem
