Itinerary
Chaya is a traditional place of feasts and entertainment, where Japan’s famous geishas have been entertaining people through dances and playing traditional musical instruments since the Edo period. Higashiyama is the biggest chaya district in Kanazawa, and provides the opportunity for a glimpse into Japan’s rich cultural past. Visit Shima Geisha house built in 1820. We will have a photo shoot session in the area.
Optional: Shima Geisha house is a historical geisha house in the Higashi Chaya teahouse district of Kanazawa. The building is now a museum and gives visitors a look at the life of the geisha who once entertained here.
Quiet and peaceful teahouse district. Enjoy the history of Kanazawa without crowds! Many Japanese movies were filmed in the area.
Step into the shoes of Kanazawa locals with a visit to Kanazawa’s largest fresh food market, where we will have delicious lunch. (several options, at own expense)
Explore Nomura Samurai residence for a step back in time in Bukeyashiki area and learn how samurai lived.
The Oyama shrine was established in 1599 with 25 meter high Dutch stained glass tower gate. Icon of the old city Kanazawa
Peaceful Japanese garden with a traditional Japanese wooden bridge. Stroll around the garden on the way to Kanazawa castel.
Restored Nezumitamon Bridge was one of the largest wooden bridges on the castle grounds, crossing over the water-filled moat
Kenrokuen is justifiably classified as one of Japan's ‘three most beautiful landscape gardens’. The spacious grounds used to be the outer garden of Kanazawa Castle, constructed by the ruling Maeda family over a period of nearly two centuries. Opened to the public in 1871, Kenrokuen features a variety of flowering trees which provide the garden with different aspects and features depending on the season. My personal favourite is Spring, but No matter what time of year, you won’t want to miss a visit to this magnificent, quintessential Japanese garden. You cannot miss a photo session here. It is a must do!
We will pick you up/drop off in Komatsu/Kaga area.
Kanazawa Castle was the seat of the Maeda Clan’s power over the Kaga Domain in Edo period Japan. The castle's thick outer walls still stand ranked and angled like a massive ziggurat, Visit to my favourite part of the castle – Ishikawamon Gate – to round out your visit. Great spot for photo shoot session.

Exploring Kanazawa with TK felt easy and well-paced from start to finish. He was punctual, organized, and made getting around comfortable. Conversation was easy and comfortable, and his familiarity with Kanazawa made the experience more interesting. We have a young child and he was patient and engaging. As a photographer, he has a good eye for locations and composition. He offered very helpful direction for poses and angles. There was no sense of being rushed, and he took time to make sure key moments were captured properly and naturally. The result was a set of amazing photos and an enjoyable day for our family.
Thank you Emily. Im glad you enjoyed the experience. Hope to capture your family moment in different seasons next time!
We did a day tour with Takatoshi for Kanazawa. He’s very knowledgeable and made our day feel seamless and we covered all the major attractions in Kanazawa. He also gave excellent recommendations for the lunch and kept our kids engaged as well. He’s a great photographer and the pics that you get at the end of the tour are amazing. Will highly recommend him.
Thank you for joining us and lm glad you enjoyed the experience. It was fun to capture your family memories in Kanazawa. Hope to see you again!
I was looking for a local tour guide in Kanazawa and happened to come across TK and his photography tour. Read the great reviews and decided to go for it and try something new! The biggest plus is that TK is pretty fluent in English after having lived in various countries. TK arrived early to our accomodation and took us around to the different scenic spots in his vehicle. We went to the different districts (Geisha, tea, samurai), castle, and garden. TK has gotten the timing down! While there were other visitors everywhere we went, we managed to get shots with nobody in the background. During our conversation, we mentioned that my fiance and I are getting married later this year. TK incorporated the engagement ring and some very cute/romantic poses for our photos. We will definitely be using some of the photos for our wedding!~ Overall we had a great time conversing with TK and learning about the history of Kanazawa and Japan while taking some pretty awesome photos!
Thank you Diana! It was fun to show you around and take engagement photos of you. Hope you will be back for your honeymoon. :)
This was hands down the best tour I have ever booked! We easily fit in all major attractions in Kanazawa and did not feel rushed at all. Our personal tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and even gave us personalized recommendations for food and coffee based on what we liked. Takatoshi, the tour guide, was fun and friendly. We were thrilled about the experience in all and then maybe a day later he gave us the pictures from our tour - we are so happy with the result. I am pregnant and we have a toddler, so we were not expecting too many good photos of our little one it can be tough to get him to look at the camera, but I LOVED every photo. The tour is a total steal for what you get. I highly recommend it and if I come back to Kanazawa I will be rebooking.
Thank you for your great review! Im glad you enjoyed the experience. Hope to capture your family moments with a new addition to your family next time. :)
We had a great experience with TK! He was very friendly and knowledgeable as a guide around Kanazawa. We had mini photo shoots scattered throughout our day which were a lot of fun, and the photos turned out great!

Thank you for spending a day with me. It was fun to capture your honeymoon memories in Japan. Im glad you will cherish the photos. :)
TK was punctual, communicative, and very patient with our 2 year old toddler during the 6 hours Kanazawa day tour and photoshoot session. It's a great way to explore the highlights of Kanazawa for those with limited time. If we had more time, would have loved to go to the surrounding areas with him too.
Thank you Phinga. Im happy to hear you enjoyed the experience. Hope to show you around again in the near future. :)
Very easy to arrange with TK regarding timing and location, he gives good advices on the local situation so we do not waste time queuing unnecessarily. He gives good cues for the photography sessions and we feel comfortable throughout the process. Would recommend him to anyone looking for a professional photographer!
Thank you Nic for your great feedback. Was my pleasure to capture your memories in Kanazawa. Hope to see you again in the near future. :)
