Hi Barbara! We apologise for the absence of the tour guide. The guide fell ill the morning of the tour and we had no available guide due to the short notice. It is always our aim to ensure guests have a great experience for the tour and this unforeseen rare circumstance is one that we will look into to prevent it from happening in future. We have processed a full refund of the tour through Viator and you should be refunded in due time. Once again, we apologise for this inconvenience as we strive to ensure
Although the Malay section was closed after the holiday, our guide Ian more than made up for it. He gave us fascinating insights into the city’s growth, housing policies, and the preservation of culture and heritage. The food tastings were a highlight—unique dishes in Little India, generous portions in Chinatown, and extra tastings thoughtfully provided to replace the missed Malay experience. Overall, the tour was engaging, educational, and delicious, with Ian’s knowledge making it truly memorable.
David was a great local guide providing us with interesting info about the areas we visited and the food we were eating. Would highly recommend.
Ray was fabulous tour quite, walked us around, saw some local food/drink being made and tastings, stopped for photos best spots, showed us about a jazz club to visit later, interesting facts about Singapore, tour was expensive but worth it.
Wonderful tour! We had Grayson as our guide. Great experience. Highly recommend this tour for in depth tasting and cultural experience.
Kampong Glam is vibrant and culturally rich area, famous for Arab Street, colorful murals, boutique shops, and halal eateries. It’s a great spot to explore heritage, enjoy local and international food and shop for unique souvenirs in a lively, walkable area.
Excellent & knowledgeable tour guide! So caring & compassionate to our friend who was using a cane, because of leg issues! Spoke clearly & took us where we enjoyed each activity!
Not worth the money, the guide took us to one place in each of the areas. Very underwhelming experience, very unhappy with the experience and the tour operator refused to give a refund.
We are sorry to hear of your experience. We have spoken to your guide to obtain more details related to your feedback. This tour focuses on the authentic experience of Singapore street food with dishes that are not commonly seen in travel guides. With the exception of 1 vendor who is recommended in Singapore's Michelin Guide, the rest are actually vendors patronised by locals in casual places. We understand that you have requested for more vendors with Michelin awards but this tour does not focus on vendors with international accolades but instead provide an experience that put you in the shoes of a local living in Singapore. These are also communicated with you prior to the tour. I'm sorry to hear that regardless of this, you have an expectation that is not matched by what the tour provides. We will look into ways to try to prevent this mismatch expectation from happening again. Thank you for bringing it up to our attention!
Thank you Grayson for a great tour and sharing your knowledge of both the culture and food of Singapore, no hesitation in recommending to other people looking for an introduction to food culture in Singapore
Our guide was Ian and he provided a great deal of information about the history, food and culture of Singapore. We tried multiple types of food from various cuisines and had a great tour. All our stops were in small, local food stalls or stands in the hawker markets. Ian was a fabulous tour guide and I highly recommend this tour.
