The tour itself was fine. I appreciated having someone to guide us around the various spots in Kamakura. Our guide didn't provide a ton of history or commentary along the way, but mostly just managed the itinerary and provided basic facts about the attractions. What I did find strange is that we were asked to pay for all of the admission and transport fees for our guide. It clearly states on the web page that we are responsible for paying our own admission and transportation fees, but it says nothing about the guide's fees. I think the tour company should pay for all of their guide's expenses and not spring that on the clients after booking the tour. It seems unprofessional and a bit sketchy.
Hi - Thank you for the feedback - It does say 'All transportation Fees for guest and Guide' The reason is that we offer a single low price for all tours, then if you ony want to go to 2 places, you only pay for the 2, and if you want to go to 6 places, no problem - the base orice stays the same. We think this is fairer on a tour by tour basis, but we reaslie that no system is perfect!!
Jack is an amazing guide; he speaks a perfect english and is very wise. It will improve your visit a lot; he answered every question about culture, history and spirituality with expertise. we can't praise him enough.
The tour was custom tailored to what I was most interested in seeing, which was excellent since I only had one full day in Kamakura and there is so much to see. The sights here were magnificent on their own, but the guide Lauren really elevated the experience! She had answers and information about everything we saw, from historical places/events all the way to modern customs. She timed the schedule really well, allowing a good pace while making sure I had enough time at each stop. Even when the tour ended, she helped me plan out the rest of my day and see some sights I am very glad I got to see. It was a real pleasure to have her as a guide, and I would highly recommend both her and this tour!
Thank you SO much for choosing JewelTours Japan and for your review - we really appreciate it!! Please let us know if you or anyone you know are visiting Japan in the future and we will try to give our very best!!
